atari2600land
Hi. I'm sick of keeping track of the batteries for my 1972 Odyssey, so I would like an AC adapter. Is there something I can use that I might already have? (for example, my Atari Jaguar ac adapter can power up a Turbografx 16).
stupus
The 2600 one works but you need to adapt from the 3.5mm headphone plug to the smaller 2.5mm. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-5mm-Female-to-3-5mm-Male-Stereo-Audio-Headphone-Jack-Adapter-Converter-2pcs-/193760525236?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-
atari2600land
Will this work? I'd prefer to buy from the U.S. if possible. http://www.ebay.com/itm/185307946623/
stupus
No, you want to go from the 3.5mm atari plug down to the smaller 2.5mm odyssey plug. Also probably better to get a mono plug as thats the standard for power. So 1 like this: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=7121&gclid=Cj0KCQjwhLKUBhDiARIsAMaTLnFTuldFRDvWp77WI3EkEOrljInv5dTc0AzgK65TCLIwZLvQJ8-G4CgaAjBOEALw_wcB

stupus
Cool, interested to hear how it all goes. Good luck!
atari2600land
So I got the AC adapter thingy in the mail today. As it turns out, when I plug it into the Odyssey, the Odyssey powers OFF. Unplugging it turns it back on. This even happens with batteries.
stupus
It was working with batteries prior though? How is it turning on when there is no power source?
atari2600land
There is a power source: I put batteries in it. I tried the power adapter without batteries. It wouldn't turn on. I added batteries and unplugged it. It turned on. I then put batteries and the power adapter in. It would only turn on if the power adapter was not connected. +stupus
Thats odd. I don't think your supposed to have batteries and the ac adapter both in at the same time though.
