CWCprime
I just ordered a Maxflash USB programmer with 2600 dumper to dump my collection, and I was wondering they supported the special Melody-based homebrew games like Deepstone Catacomb? I guess another way of wording my question would be, is there any type of cartridge that they DON'T support? +groundtrooper
These are currently the types of 2600 carts you can dump with the AtariMax. If Deepstone is a standard 32k scheme it should work. If it is not standard then it wont. I am not sure what kind of scheme it uses.
Thomas Jentzsch
AFAIK all ARM based games cannot be dumped that simple.
+batari
The problem with dumping ARM games is that the 2600 itself cannot directly see the entire binary. So if you try to dump them, at best you will only get the portions that the 2600 can actually directly see. Typically that is around 70% of the binary. CWCprime
Thanks guys, I suspected as much. I would like to have the digital ROMs for these games. Is there anyway I could have the AtariAge staff verify my orders and send me the digital ROMs of said games, or do they not allow such a thing? Thomas Jentzsch
There are plans for digital downloads at AtariAge. Not sure when this will happen.
