mpattonm #1 Posted September 16, 2003 Hi fellow Atari users and fans, because of family reasons,I am not able to take care of my beloved Falcon030 anymore. Thats why I have decided to sell it to someone, who will take better care to this very unique piece of art (and thats what it always was to me). This is the reason I am sending a message to this list as well, beeing totally quiet otherwise. The Falcon030 I am about to offer to those who are interested is like new, fully functional and tested, never modded and/or speeded, except it now contains bigger Hitachi 3 Gig 2,5" HDD, new 3,5" Panasonic FDD, socketed 68882 copro (took me while to buy one, believe me) and internal piezo speaker (to replace original magnetic one in order to avoid data loss on internal IDE cable). Other specs are pretty standart: 4 Megs RAM,... As I am selling my whole Atari kingdom, happy buyer will get also these original and fully functional items, next to the Faclon computer itself: Atari mouse, Genius serial mouse, Falcon -> VGA monitor cable convertor, SCSI HD cable, external 5,25" CDROM enclosure, SCSI 4x CD-RW Traxdata drive, power cord and especially, like new Atari 1040STFM machine plus Atari SM124 monitor. I will also include full CD of Atari software and games, but I am not going to comment content of this CD nor where I get content from, sorry This will only be sold together, not as single parts, to someone, who will offer good price and will be well communicating. If you feel you are interested, drop me an email at [email protected], including your offer (USD/Euro). On this email, I will also answer potential questions, that I will be glad to answer all. But please, give me some time to respond. Have a nice day, Pavel

Gunstar #3 Posted September 16, 2003 Is it a US or Euro machine? need to know if it will work for me in the U.S...can i plug it into an american outlet?
mpattonm #4 Posted February 25, 2011 (edited) Its Euro machine, will work on US power grid just fine, but you have to replace EUR power cord with US one. And as it stands, this offer is still valid, if anyone is interested. Sorry I have been off for quite some time Edited February 25, 2011 by mpattonm

Ato #6 Posted February 26, 2011 Its Euro machine, will work on US power grid just fine, but you have to replace EUR power cord with US one. And as it stands, this offer is still valid, if anyone is interested. Sorry I have been off for quite some time Are you 100% certain that your Euro Falcon PS will work here in the US? Brad at Best in California sells two different PSes, one for Euro, one for US, both with different Atari part numbers. And, oh boy, you have been quite for some(!) time. Welcome back! Cheers, T. mpattonm #7 Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) As long as you have 220/230V power grid, it will be just fine. Only differences were in certification and power cord. And to say - its nice beeing back Edited February 27, 2011 by mpattonm
+poobah #8 Posted February 27, 2011 As long as you have 220/230V power grid, it will be just fine. Only differences were in certification and power cord. And to say - its nice beeing back US is 110v, 60 Hz. I've never seen a falcon with a worldwide power supply.
Ato #9 Posted February 27, 2011 Could not edit the post anymore: sorry, should have been quiet, not quite. That's what I thought, the US version has a different PS. Cheers, T.
Kylev #10 Posted February 28, 2011 One could always buy a voltage converter (the type us yanks use when traveling overseas to visit our European neighbors). I think they sell ones that go the other way (220->110), but I could be wrong. In any event, the TT would still be expecting the 50hz signal needed for European video and this would add another degree of trouble. Is there a simple way to run a European Atari 16bit machine here in the US? Russ
Ato #11 Posted February 28, 2011 \Is there a simple way to run a European Atari 16bit machine here in the US? Yes, there is. It is indeed the use of a transformer. I got one dirt cheap from Ebay: a 1kW model for about US$50. My GB-Falcon seems not to mind the 60 Hertz - the transformers transform voltage only, not frequency. Thought this should be explicitly mentioned in case somebody finds this post via a search engine. - and works great with the transformer. Cheers, T.
wongck #12 Posted March 2, 2011 I am using a 240V step down to 110V transformer for my US Falc. Been using it like that since 1995 or so when I got my Falc from the US.
wongck #13 Posted March 2, 2011 Could not edit the post anymore: sorry, should have been quiet, not quite. That's what I thought, the US version has a different PS. Cheers, T. They are different. See my pics in a post in AF.
mpattonm #14 Posted March 14, 2011 Since I took a pictures today for a potential buyer, I thought I might post them in here too. Its in a top shape, both cosmetically and functionally.
mpattonm #15 Posted March 14, 2011 ...and I forgot to mention: like new Atari 1040STFM machine, Atari SM124 monitor and an Atari mouse are no longer available.
+wood_jl #16 Posted March 14, 2011 Holy necro bump Batman!!! Exactly. Am I to understand correctly that, 7 and 1/2 years after the thread was started, pictures were just posted for a Falcon that's been for sale the entire time? Is this not a little bit odd?
Ato #17 Posted March 15, 2011 Is this not a little bit odd? Why?
+wood_jl #18 Posted March 15, 2011 Is this not a little bit odd? Why? Apologies. My mistake. I didn't see all of the other 7.5 year-old sale threads, and I didn't know this was routine. Not odd at all.
mpattonm #19 Posted March 15, 2011 Would you care to explain what exactly you find odd? And if I may ask, please avoid sarcasm this time.

+wood_jl #21 Posted March 15, 2011 (edited) Would you care to explain what exactly you find odd? And if I may ask, please avoid sarcasm this time. I found it odd that a machine has been for sale for nearly 8 years. Is that clear? Is it NOT odd? Is it *really* that difficult to see that a normal person would find it odd that something is for sale for 8 years? I didn't say it was bad. I do not insinuate that anybody is being dishonest. Did I? Please quote me where I did, if that is what you believe. I just said it was odd. Indeed, it is damn odd. How many other machines have been for sale for 8 years? None? I guess that makes it odd, then, doesn't it? That's all. That's all I have to say about it. If you don't find it odd, that's fine. I do. OldSchoolRetroGamer #22 Posted March 15, 2011 @wood_jl .....for the record, I find it odd to, which it is no question.
Shredder11 #23 Posted March 16, 2011 Nice looking machine though and like one of mine, it still has the protective badge label on.
Chandler #24 Posted March 16, 2011 yes the other "odd" thing is it has a STE/ST keyboard and white PC floppy drive which are different colours to the original grey hence it looks.... well... a bit..... odd
Shredder11 #25 Posted March 17, 2011 Yes that is true, which makes it non-standard or not authentic to the original but apart from that is seems ok.
