Redcurrie #1 Posted September 17, 2003 I have won a bunch of auctions that contained a Parker Brothers "Mystery Cart" as in one with no label whatsoever. Every time, I secretly hope that it is Q*Bert Qubes but every single time, it's been Frogger. Has anyone ever gotten a labelless cart that turned out to be valuable? (I guess that in its own way, that would be just as dissappointing as it wouldn't have as much value but.....)
Godzilla #2 Posted September 17, 2003 always froggers for me, and demon attacks, and laser blasts and ets and pac men etc
moycon #3 Posted September 17, 2003 Nothing super valuable. One time I got a M Network cart with no lable, and the only one I really needed was Kool aid Man..... Of course I knew it was something like Astro Smash or Lock And Chase of which I had plenty of...But when I plugged it in it turned out...It was Kool aid Man!!!! WOOOOHOO!O!!OO!!O!!! Yes, one time out of many I actually got a NTSC Mangia' cart as the mystery cart from a lot I won in Canada. I almost had a heart attack.
Osmeroid #5 Posted September 17, 2003 I bought a set of six games with a so-called mystery cart. Not much of a mystery really as the game was a boxed CIB copy of Galactic Don't ask me.
Lumpbucket #6 Posted September 17, 2003 Hmmm... it seems to me that less scrupulous collectors probably rip the label off of commons, so that they can sell them as "mystery" carts in the hope of getting a couple more bucks for that Pac-Man...
NovaXpress #7 Posted September 17, 2003 I think I'll tear the labels off a Combat and sell it on Ebay as "This Might be Quadrun!"
SS #8 Posted September 18, 2003 Yes, one time out of many I actually got a NTSC Mangia' cart as the mystery cart from a lot I won in Canada. I almost had a heart attack. Like Rod Stewart said ... "Some guys have all the luck"!
Brad2600 #9 Posted September 18, 2003 I got 2 label-less Parker Brothers carts and they turned out to be Frogger and Q-Bert..and I was hoping for Q-Bert's Qubes...damn.
tailGator #10 Posted September 18, 2003 I think I'll tear the labels off a Combat and sell it on Ebay as "This Might be Quadrun!" How valuable is a labeless Quadrun anyway? I would imagine that the price woud drop significantly.
Chadivision #11 Posted September 18, 2003 OR.... You could always rip the label off of Quadrun and sell it as "This might be Combat". I imagine that a decision like that would involve a LOT of drinking.
Zach #12 Posted September 18, 2003 I have a labelless Parker Brothers Cart, and no Colecovision to test it on. But I'm fairly sure it's not Quadrun...
MegaManFan #13 Posted September 18, 2003 If they'd sell me every labelless Parker Brothers cart for a buck (total) at the store I frequent, I'd take them all in hopes one would be Qubes. Most likely though they'd all be Frogger.
ATARIPITBULL #14 Posted September 18, 2003 I guess there is always a chance you might get lucky with a mystery cart, but I would not waist my money trying, there are way too many other Atari things I need to buy.

Perzactly. I did have fun with a labelless Frogger I bought once for a laugh to see what it was, I scotch taped a Strong Bad tattoo to it and sold it on eBay. Snider-man #20 Posted September 18, 2003 I actually DID win the PB Mystery Cart Lottery twice. I once got a Sky Skipper - not rare, but a nice find - and once a Star Wars: The Arcade Game! Eventually found ones with labels, so I gave 'em away, but it was quite cool to not get a Frogger or Popeye for a change.
hhwolfman #21 Posted September 18, 2003 Last one I got was Empire Strikes back.
Tempest #22 Posted September 18, 2003 Whenever I get a labeless PB cart it's always Q*Bert. I'm surprised there still is a Q*Bert out there with a label. Tempest
