SpendTooMuchOnAtari #1 Posted October 2, 2003 Check this out! I preordered the new Tony Hawk game for my PS2 and got the shirt for free. Good deal I guess. Then, I saw that SSX 3 was coming out for PS2....WOW I asked what the promo giveaway for that was...nothing. But, I started asking about old promos or ones that he has a lot of and he gave me a couple of things for pre-ordering SSX3 also. It was cool. I got another T-Shirt for some game I never heard of Dino something 3 for XBOX and a demo game. He was the manager guy so if you are ever preordering a game, try to get something for FREE!! It works, I think they may get a bonus or commission or something....maybe he was just a cool guy.
z28in82 #2 Posted October 2, 2003 The dino something game was Dino Crisis 3, which sadly moved to the X-box, I loved playing DC 1&2 on my PSX and looked forward to playin it on my PS2 but oh well. Yeah freebies are kinda cool, but most are stuff I wouldn't use anyway. last cool freebie I got was a ligh-up lightsaber keychain from LucasArts when I got Glactic Battleground Clone Campains and the strat guide
2600Lives #3 Posted October 2, 2003 Dino Crisis rocks! I loved both games, and it's a damn shame that the X-Box is getting 3. Anyhoo, I only really shop at Game Stop for their half price and bargain stuff. I've picked up some half price booster packs of Hero Clix, and got a SWEET Samus Bobble Head statue for like 5 bucks. This and some halfway decent computer titles, too. I rarely buy much else there, though. I like to support my local, individually owned shops more. Hell, when my Dreamcast went blooey a couple of years ago, I went to the game shop I used to manage and talked to the owner. At the time, they were 40 bucks used, but he threw in two extra Performance memory cards (and I think my total DC memory card count right now is at like 32), an extra controller (that makes 7 controllers...), and all the demo discs he had. Of course, I knew the guy, but still.
PuddWakkr #4 Posted October 2, 2003 Dino Crisis 3 is one of the worst Xbox games I've played. Don't feel bad it's on the Xbox you should be glad you didn't have to play it.
Raijin Z #5 Posted October 2, 2003 The only preorder freebies I've actively sought were Ocarina of Time ((duh) Wind Waker), and an RE2 shirt (Resident Evil 2).
MegaManFan #6 Posted October 2, 2003 I wish I had done the Chrono Cross pre-order. My friend David got a shirt, a clock, a poster and some keychain or tchotsky like that - but I was always envious of the clock.
AtariDude #7 Posted October 5, 2003 That was kind of nice that you were able to obtain freebies like that. I tend not to buy new games as they come out since I prefer to get them when they cost less. However I have already ordered Counter Strike Condition Zero and I am waiting and hoping it gets released soon. I don't want to have to download a 340 plus meg file just to update Counter Strike from version 1.5 to version 1.6. I just wait until the new version is released. chrisbid #8 Posted October 6, 2003 i have a ghaleon punching puppet from the Lunar 2 preorder preorders are kindof pointless in this day and age of optical media, has there been a serious game shortage since Zelda OOT, but Nintendo's bonus discs have been pretty cool imho
