vanman #1 Posted October 2, 2003 What is the best 7800 game and why?
SteveW #2 Posted October 3, 2003 Midnight Mutants. It's the most graphically advanced 7800 game, has good music, an involving plot, great gameplay, a lot of replayability, and Grampa Munster! How can you go wrong with a combination like that?
thund3r #3 Posted October 3, 2003 come on food fight is great fun, its addictive, fun and simple, not alot of people would agree with me, but i think its the best 7800 game.
kyle #4 Posted October 3, 2003 Ninja Golf!!! Why you ask? Come on its ninjas and golf in one game! It makes golf fun! It really is a awesome game though.
hagbard #5 Posted October 3, 2003 Ninja Golf! Yeah! That's my favourite, too! I think the devolopers must have been stoned getting this idea for a game (winners don't use drugs, eh?) I never had such a good laugh and fun playing a 7800 game!
DracIsBack #6 Posted October 3, 2003 Midnight Mutants. It's the most graphically advanced 7800 game, has good music, an involving plot, great gameplay, a lot of replayability, and Grampa Munster! How can you go wrong with a combination like that? I totally love Midnight Mutants too and it does have good graphics. As for "the most advanced", I don't agree. I think Alien Brigade has the best graphics on that system. Ninja Golf and Tower Toppler are up there too![/u]
YarsRevengeFan #7 Posted October 3, 2003 come on food fight is great fun, its addictive, fun and simple, not alot of people would agree with me, but i think its the best 7800 game. And you've got to admit, the instant replay feature is awesome!
DracIsBack #8 Posted October 3, 2003 My favorites: Ballblazer - Ass-kicking animation and sound, fun game. Midnight Mutants - Decent sized quest Commando - probably the best arcade translation on the system. Xevious - It's just soo much fun
thund3r #9 Posted October 3, 2003 on one note, i had my m8 round today and we played asteroids for my 7800 2 player for an hour and he really enjoyed it! hes normally really bitter about old games and goes on non stop about cs all the time, but i think i got him switched as he bought a jaguar on ebay the other day anyway asteroids 2 player is gr8 fun and it comes with the console! Clock #11 Posted October 5, 2003 Alien Brigade and Joust are my favourites. I thought Midnight Mutants was a bit lame - I don't think it's got the best graphics either by a long way.
Inky #12 Posted October 5, 2003 Xevious, Crossbow, ALien Brigade, Asteroids Xevious -- Graphics aren't spectacular, but it's so addictive! I like it better than the Arcade version. Crossbow -- In this one the graphics ARE spectacular, and the gameplay loses nothing from the arcade version Alien Brigade -- Great Opereation Wolf clone Asteroids -- Graphics are spectacular, gameplay is better than the 2600 version, and the 2 player modes kick ass! Now if someone could hack a co-operative 2 player option into Xevious.
Mendon #13 Posted October 5, 2003 Crossbow -- In this one the graphics ARE spectacular, and the gameplay loses nothing from the arcade version Just curious if you play this with a lightgun or controller? I am really, really bad at it when using the controller and not alot better with my Atari brand lightgun because I never seem to hit what I'm shooting at. I always lose a life or two trying to figure out how many inches I have to shoot away from something to hit it Mendon
sku_u #14 Posted October 5, 2003 I really enjoy these games for the 7800: Crossbow Dark Chambers Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Jr. Food Fight Galaga Jinks Midnight Mutants Ninja Golf Scrapyard Dog Tower Toppler Winter Games The rest of this system's library is underwhelming to say it nicely. Inky #15 Posted October 5, 2003 Crossbow -- In this one the graphics ARE spectacular, and the gameplay loses nothing from the arcade version Just curious if you play this with a lightgun or controller? Mendon I actually use the Genesis controller for this. Works a LOT better than the stock 7800 controller.
