RangerG
I have found several sites around the web with images of Intellivision overlays. I click on the small images to enlarge them and them try to print them and they print out like 3 by 5 notecards. How can I print them the "official" size of an overlay so that I can make them into repro. overlays to use? Is is printer settings, image settings, ?? Advice appreciated. Thanks, RG The same question applies to Colecovision, 5200, and 2600 overlays.
Xot
The easiest way will be to d/l them to your local drive and scale them as necessary in an image editing program.
Ze_ro
Most sites I've seen that have these overlays have them sized specifically for printing, so resizing in a graphics program could take a long time to get the right size. Instead, you might want to fool around with the resolution settings for your printer... try setting it to 150 or 300dpi and see if that works (I think I printed some out at that resolution before, and they were about the right size). Once you find the right size, you might want to pick up some inkjet transparencies, print a mirrored image of the overlay (so that it shows through on the other side), and then spray paint the back with a few coats of white paint. Should make for a rather kick-ass facsimile. --Zero

So I was thinking of trying this technique to home-print them. Can anyone verify whether it's feasible? I asked David himself and he says he has no suggestion, but he used to use a printing shop. Any advice is appreciated!
CaptainBreakout
I know a technique, but I need to ask permission from the person whom shared it with me since I promised him I'd keep it a secret. Let me ask and get back to you if he's cool with sharing.

Well, this fantastic member got back to me and said "share away". So the secret is, you need to get ahold of transparencies that you can use on a home printer. Easiest to find are the ones they use on an overhead projector (remember those from grade school?). You'll probably have to buy a whole reem of them. A good print shop will be able to order them for you. The key here is to print a mirror image of the overlay on the overhead projector paper. See, you are going to be printing on the underside. Lastly, you're going to want to laminate a piece of paper over the printed side to protect it. Something like a full sheet of sticker paper. Then cut it out, and you are on your way! Might take a few tries, but I've seen some really good results. Thanks to @Humblejack for his technique. He said you are welcome to contact him if you have questions or run into trouble.

Thanks a ton, both to you and @Humblejack! Guess I need to invest in a laminator. ?
CaptainBreakout
Oh 23 minutes ago, NeonPeon said: Thanks a ton, both to you and @Humblejack! Guess I need to invest in a laminator. ? Oh you don't need a laminator. Sorry that wasn't clear. I meant you use a sticker-backed sheet to attach the the printed side of the transparency, thereby "laminating" it. That's all. Just as simple as putting on a sticker.

Just Word and transparencies. Using Word, download, size, reverse and then print the images. Then stick them onto Avery 5165 full sheet labels. Cut and use. Here is a word file with the images sized and reversed ready for printing. Of course you can mix and match any of the overlays you need. Thank you!! And thank you @Humblejack and @CaptainBreakout on the correction about lamination. That would've been an embarrassing purchase.
