Dolt #1 Posted October 4, 2003 Anyone know how something like these two carts happened? The Golf cart on the left has very light, blurry lettering, so that you can barely see the "9 holes" on it and even the title is anemic. By comparison, the label next to it is robust, with clear, solid letters and vibrant color. Was this due to bad inks or is there some kind of thing to do with the plastic of the labels? Csonicgo #2 Posted October 4, 2003 I think that is normal wear. fingers rubbing on it pulling the cartrige out and loading it in probably pulled the ink off. that's how my games are.
Dolt #3 Posted October 4, 2003 I always thought the letters were infused into the plastic, not printed on it. I'll have to take a closer look at a text label.
Brad2600 #4 Posted October 5, 2003 Looks like normal wear and tear to me. I have several text carts with the same issues.
as_the_gavel_falls #5 Posted October 5, 2003 I've seen these before, and it's definitely two different printing companies which were contracted or different printing machines. Often there is a font or font size discrepancy as well.
Mindfield #6 Posted October 5, 2003 Yeah, I've got a Casino cart like this -- blurry and almost smudged. Probably the combination of the ink used by that particular company on that particular kind of stock wasn't the greatest of choices. (i.e. using an oil or water-based ink when they should have probably used an acrylic-based ink or somesuch)
