pal-secam roms- anyone know where I can find them?

I've heard about the french having problems. the most unstable element named after france, their horrible Secam tv's... I heard that the pre crash days atari made pal carts with secam pallets when you flicked the color switch. I'd like to see these roms, just out of curiosity. anybody have any?

I dumped SECAM carts a while ago... but the dump files were similar to the PAL ones.

I dumped SCHTROUMPFS (French version of SMURFS) and ZAXXON.

 

The carts with the mention "System TV SECAM exclusivement" (= for SECAM TV only) printed on the front label seems to be only PAL carts with a French mention to the local TV system, but nothing else.

 

When I'am using SECAM Carts with my 7800, the PAL palette is used, and I never found carts with a SECAM palette so far. (I tried with the 3 SECAM cartridges I own : Schtroumpfs, Zaxxon and Keystone keypers).

 

IMHO SECAM Palette cartridges don't exist because the PAL->SECAM palette conversion is done by the SECAM VCS 2600 unit which uses the luminosity intensity of a PAL color to define the SECAM color to be displayed on the TV.

Most of Atari's own PAL games in the early 1980s were written to use luminance values in B/W mode that would give decent colours on a SECAM system though. I suppose you could find some of those ROMs here on AtariAge. But you must manually set the SECAM mode on the emulators. Also you must manually set the B/W switch to get proper SECAM colours.
