Do Telegames carts not fit in old 2600 systems?

Recommended Posts

I´ve sold many Telegames carts through ebay and large lots to several traders.

Now someone complains and says that these carts only fit in the junior system.

But I´ve checked all the carts to find out if PAL or NTSC and I have a junior,a 7800 and a black 4-switch.They fit and work.

Nobody ever complained and since all the Telegames carts look the same, this really cannot be ?

I mean all the Telegames carts are standard silver label carts and all look the same - Bump n Jump,Kung Fu Superkicks,Lock n Chase,Quest for Quintana Roo,Nightstalker,Bogey Blaster,GX-12,Deadly Disks,Astroblast, Space Attack,Armor Ambush,International Soccer,Super Challenge Football, Super Challenge Baseball are the games I have sold and never, ever had someone complaining about not fitting into the console.

The same carts were also used for some Commandos,Ghostbusters 2, Pick n Piles and other white-label carts, but they are different from the "light" Salu carts (these don´t fit well in old consoles) since they are the "heavy" EPROM Salu carts, which are not as common.

It´s known that SALU carts don´t fit in 6-switchers, but not telegames carts. But I can´t believe that they don´t fit in 4-switchers since they fit into mine.

Anyone knows more?

The Activision white label carts are the SALU carts - they don´t fit well into old 2600 systems, this is known. You can read "SALU" on the back of the box.

But I never had the problem with silver label Telegames carts especially because they were not made for the European market were the junior was more common.

They fit into my 4-switch 2600 without problems and 6 switch consoles are kind of rare in Europe (never had one).

And Telegames used the same carts for Imagic and CBS re-releases.They also fit in the 4-switch system.

I´d say if I offer carts on ebay the buyer should ask before if they fit in a 6-switch system.I would tell them "I don´t know" since I never had a 6-switch system, so they may decide to buy or not.

I check every not shrinkwrapped cart, but I only have a junior,a 7800, a black 4-switch and a Coleco with 2600 adaptor and I do this for free - since it´s known that especially SALU and Telegames often have wrong carts inside boxes, for example Video Chess on a Bump n Jump cart.

We currently have a six-switcher set up for testing all of the games that come in. I've been suprised by how many barely fit. Several have been too tight and we've tested them on other systems in fear of scratching the sides of the carts. It baffles me that they produced carts that didn't fit in all of the Atari systems.

Hope this helps,

Jarett
