Cassidy Nolen #1 Posted October 9, 2003 I know its not anything rare, but it is a good feeling. Took me about six months to go from none to all boxed, but I refused to spend too much on any one game... Just thought I would share. Got Mountain King in the mail today! That completes Activision and CBS boxed. Now if anyone would sell that Out of Control boxed, I could finish up Avalon Hill..... Cassidy
CPUWIZ #2 Posted October 9, 2003 Nice, congrats but your missing one CBS item.

candiru #4 Posted October 9, 2003 Let's see....Initial post 3:58....reply by CPUWIZ 4:02. How much you want to bet he has a custom built application that monitors the forums for these types of threads and then searches his database for the image most likely to invoke a "Damn you, CPUWIZ!" Godzilla #5 Posted October 9, 2003 cpuwiz isnt a person, but an AI bot based on the old Atari 800 'Abuse' program. Welcome to the club. I dont collect complete stuff though, so my cbs collection is just naked carts :-) (sure some are boxed, but you get the idea.)

No, I actually had to go take the pic, crop it and watermark it in that time period.
NE146 #7 Posted October 9, 2003 Cassidy with his new found collection makes a call... "Yknow CPUWiz, that looks more like a Gay Man's 'Happy Chair'. So how bout you sell it to me.... since I can put it to good use if ya know what I'm sayin'... *cough*"
Technosis #8 Posted October 9, 2003 Nice, congrats but your missing one CBS item. CBS Stick Stand. Nice Item! I do remember this being mentioned in a classic games mag like Electronic Games or something. They actually gave a thumbs down to the Stick Stand, saying that the extra torque put on the ol' Atari stick by keeping it stationary resulted in more broken joysticks................... NE146 #10 Posted October 9, 2003 A Wings box ? I was wondering about that.. what is Wings? Some other console/computer game? I've never heard of it... Incidentally, if you click that pic it'll take you to that CBS Interview scan I did
Big Player #11 Posted October 10, 2003 I had two of those stick stands. I never used them with my 2600 though. They did work well on the desk next to my 800XL. I didn't have a problem with it breaking the joysticks, since I used the same standard Atari sticks the whole time I had my 800XL. In fact, those joysticks lasted longer than the computer did. It doesn't surprise me that they do contribute to broken joysticks. They do put a lot of stress on the shaft. (NE146 can insert his own joke there.) The games I had for my computer were less frantic than most of the games on the 2600.

Incidentally, if you click that pic it'll take you to that CBS Interview scan I did 8-bit Computer game. One of many announced but unreleased CBS titles. Godzilla #14 Posted October 10, 2003 wings the controversy continues to this day, still in the closet? or out in the light of day... (and wings was a 2600 game, that was to use the new 'ram plus' (or whatever they called it,) that they used in omega race, etc. and also provide another game to use that booster grip with....) Keir #15 Posted October 10, 2003 A better picture of the box can be seen at AGH: http://www.atarihq.com/museum/2678/games/
ATARIPITBULL #16 Posted October 12, 2003 Another thing you should have if you want a complete CBS collection is Omega Race box with out the race controller.
SS #17 Posted October 12, 2003 Another thing you should have if you want a complete CBS collection is Omega Race box with out the race controller. Why would they have sold it w/o the Booster Controller? The game wasn't (technically) playable without it. Was the Booster Controller also sold separately? Godzilla #18 Posted October 13, 2003 maybe the seperate cart has up for thrust... I'll never understand why they made a special controller and everything for a game that didn't need it. A second button would be great in the commando type of games for the grenade, but in OR all it does is make my perfect arcade button panel NOT WORK it. grrr
