I finally have confirmed address from Paypal!!

Whoo whoo!!! I finally have my confirmed address from Paypal, that about time!! Since before I always have unconfirmed address for a long time, but now become confirmed address now!!

 

Im happy now!

I found out recently at Paypal's policy updates, they said:

 

Address Confirmation Status Available in UK, CA

 

Notice Date: September 8, 2003

Effective Date: October 10, 2003

Effective October 10, 2003, addresses provided by UK and Canadian buyers may have the status of "Confirmed". A Confirmed Address is a user's credit card billing address. Though not all credit card companies are currently able to confirm an address, sellers can use the presence of a Confirmed Address as an additional risk management tool when considering transactions that are not eligible for the Seller Protection Policy. All addresses for users outside the US, UK, and Canada will continue to show a status of Unconfirmed.

So does anyone only ship to Confirmed addresses?

 

I had one buyer send a $400 payment with an unconfirmed address, this person had over 3000 positive feedbacks on ebay a US seller. I took it, but it's strange seeing someone like that without a confirmed address, I was wondering if they might try ripping me off claiming it never arrived or something. Never heard from them again thou, and I see they have started relisting some of the items from my original lot on ebay. So I guess all went well.

 

But what Seller Protection plan are we loosing out on when shipping to an unconfirmed address?

 

 

Anyone ever had a complaint after mailing to an U.A. and the buyer claiming it never arrived?

i do bid alot for a friend and i give my friends address with my pay pal payment i would almost always get sellers asking why i sent an unconfirmed address.. so i started to add this statement "i have 500+ feedback points NO NEGS i'm not going to screw you!" now i don't get those questions any more.

but there are sellers who will not ship unless you have a confirmed address!

 

i'm sure glad pay pal did this with people from canada... because i had a buyer (with 0 feedback) win one of my auctions 2 weeks ago

and it still has not got there! so i'm a little worried! they did not want it insured i thought about getting it insured just for the hell of it. but i did not... i wish i did now...

You can have a bank account at 15, and that's all you need to OPEN an account and transfer in funds. You just can't CONFIRM your address unless you have a credit card.

15 in 13 days =P actually, its my brothers PayPal, we share that and eBay, but no credit card is used, so looks like no confirmed addy for me
