ziggystar #3 Posted October 13, 2003 We are looking for game graphics artists, not packaging or label artists. thanks!
Clock #4 Posted October 13, 2003 Can you be more specific? Are you looking for skins for polygon 3d animated characters/objects or are you looking for sprites. Are you looking for someone with a track record in Vector based graphics (3D imaging that can be expanded/shrunk with no effect on resolution) or Bitmap applications. What platform? What do you have in mind.
ziggystar #5 Posted October 13, 2003 We are looking for 2-D static Image graphics. 16 Bit color. Background Sceens and and animated Character Creation.
joeybastard #6 Posted October 13, 2003 I'm a graphic artist for TV using Photoshop/Illustrator/After Effects for still and motion graphics. I know nothing about making game graphics other then being a video game player. Do you need special formats for game design or is that something the coders would deal with? Sorry for all of the questions but I'm curious.
ziggystar #7 Posted October 13, 2003 I don't know how other coders are, but we are able to use any file format, type, size and bit depth. We handle all the conversion down to the size and format we need. We just can't draw.
joeybastard #8 Posted October 13, 2003 Well if you want PM me a description of what you're looking for. Something like "Half Cyborg Dachshund fights Ninja Space Squirrels in a post apocalyptic world to gain control of the Zobbo Sword" Besides myself I have a friend who is an excellent character artist. He might be interested in picking up a few extra bucks doing some design work for this. He and I could mess around with some stuff and send it to you to see if it's what you're looking for. Clock #9 Posted October 14, 2003 Well that's cool with me, as I have no experience with vector based applications. PM me also with more details about what your lookin for exactly. The information required (joeybastard will need this too) for static image is resolution of picture / max colour requirement / subject of picture and style required (what feeling are you looking for, cartoony fun, serious, scary, cell shaded, high detail realism, moody, etc etc) For character graphics we will need to know the same as above plus how many frames of animation you would like, and what actions you require the character(s) to have. We will need to know how many frames of animation you will want for each action (unless there is no limit in which case characters can animate very smooth indeed). What format would you like to recieve this file? I assume your happy to receive image files via email as I am in the UK.
joeybastard #10 Posted October 14, 2003 Unfortunately I already had to back out. My partner took a large web job for us and neglected to tell me until I suggested we submit some stuff for this. Since we both have full time gigs, we only do single freelance gigs at a time. Sorry ziggystar!
Clock #11 Posted October 14, 2003 That's a shame joeybastard, I was looking forward to see what came up. I am not that bothered about the money side of things (although it's always nice), I was just going to do it for the pleasure. I used to be part of a small team of hackers (my job was all the graphics) and we used to make games and demos for the C64 back in the day. We could have made a fortune (some were really high commercial quality), but we just did it to show off. I kind of want to relive that, see my stuff used by other people. SirWilliam #13 Posted May 13, 2005 I am a background artist. If interested please contact by e-mail. I utilize Painter or photoshop to create my images or if you prefer I also hand paint images then scan into a digital format like this one.
