DeV0 #1 Posted October 14, 2003 Who else has this excellent Xbox title? More to the point. How the frick do i get the original panzer dragoon to appear in pandoras box? I have finished the ten levels and played for more than 5 hours and still no panzer dragoon. Does anyone know if you have to finish the scenarios as well? Enough ranting,,, I am really enjoying this title on the box. Its a fighter on rails but it stinks of quality. Any help appreciated
chrisbid #2 Posted October 14, 2003 once you beat the game in any difficulty, it should be open i think its inside the appendix i love this game too, this is the type of fusion of the old and new school that people like us that frequent these message boards crave, and yet they sell like shit, further eroding the chances of games like these appearing in the future
Godzilla #3 Posted October 14, 2003 Yea I love orta too. I just used action replay to open up all of pandoras options :-)
Clock #4 Posted October 14, 2003 It's one of those games I always mean to buy, but when I go shopping, there is always something else calling me. I loved the demo though.
JagMX #5 Posted October 14, 2003 i also have it - kick ass game - stepped aside from it cuz im currently fixated on Rayman 3:D, i just wish Panzer 2 was available to open, i liked it so much better than the first - but at least i got my saturn for that
ubersaurus #6 Posted October 14, 2003 Best game on the xbox. I've been playing it again lately, and let me tell you, it's a tough, but awesome, game. Cool story too.
JankenTheGreat #7 Posted October 14, 2003 Panzer Dragoon Orta is the only X-Box game they have at the Wal-Mart here, and whenever I go, I always play it for, like, a thousand hours. Of course, there's always some whiny-ass little kid behind me telling me to hurry up. So I tun around and yell "SHUT UP!" as loud as I can in his face. Most of them dont bother me anymore. Starscream #8 Posted October 14, 2003 Panzer kicks ass. Visually, one of the best games I have ever seen in my life. It's challenging, kinda old school where you need to remember paterns and some of the boss' will take a better part of an hour to defeat. Play it for 5 hours or beat it I believe to open the original in Pandoras box.
Mustangarrett #9 Posted October 15, 2003 It's one of those games I always mean to buy, but when I go shopping, there is always something else calling me. I loved the demo though. Exactly the same for me. I have had it in my hands all the way up to the checkout counter... but then saw something else! With all of your guys's praise, maybe I should just go ahead and buy it already. I used to love the other games on Saturn.

DeV0 #11 Posted October 15, 2003 Proof that i really am a spaz,, It is in the damn appendix after all Awesome there are so many fans of this title, I really am enjoying every moment. The original still plays and feels great, Im hoping sega keep this up with other titles. It can be a reminder to some how great the sega machines where and also teach the fanboys of other machines something about sega's past.

BestBuy doesn't usually have their online games for the same price in their stores. I managed to miss out on Panzer Dragoon Orta and Skies of Arcadia for $10, but last week I did order Ikaruga for $20 from them. Just waiting for it to show up..... If you're looking for good videogame prices for online retailers, try this link:http://dealnews.com/sections/video_games.html The prices are the same at the stores for this sale. I picked up Panzer Dragoon Orta earlier this week at my local BB for $10. It looks like most stores are sold out of them by now though.
SteveW #15 Posted October 16, 2003 Best Buy's prices have never matched their online prices around here. Back when BestBuy.com had run out of Beach Spikers for $10, I went to a few stores, and they still had them for $50. The sales guys had no idea about the sale. I ordered Ikaruga for $20 earlier this week, but the store I went into today to get a copy of Matrix Reloaded still had them for $40, and Panzer Dragoon Orta for $30. I wish my local stores would reflect their online pricing.
skeletor #16 Posted October 16, 2003 Did you ask (demand) that he look up the price on the computer? AS I went in search of Skies of Arcadia today with no luck. I asked them to check the computer to see if they had any stored in back and it showed $10 on the screen. So just because it is'nt marked does'nt mean it's not on sale just ask them to look it up next time. Also here are some more games that were on sale at Best Buy: Onimusha 2 PS2 $10 Vexx PS2 $10 Rebel Strike Bonus Disc $0.01 GC NHL 2K3 Xbox $10 You guys might also want to check your local Target as they had the following games on clearence: PS2: Onimusha $5.38 Crash $7.48 Amplitude $7.48 GC: Eternal Darkness $10.38 Xbox: Shenmue II $4.38 There was also a few more PS2 games but I can't remember what they were, and I will post them if I can remember what they were. SteveW #17 Posted October 16, 2003 When I was looking for Beach Spikers for $10, the sales guys didn't know anything about the sale. They did check it on the computer and it showed the price in-store to be $50. No use arguing with these guys....
Scooterb23 #18 Posted October 16, 2003 Now, I'd like to get those Target deals, but I can NEVER find those around here...

chrisbid #20 Posted October 22, 2003 playing through orta a few times inspired me to give another run through Panzer Dragoon Saga. This was simply a gorgeous RPG. It had the best battle system ever devised in an RPG, lots of customization, lots of challenge, and its an real-time based formula. There are a few slow parts, but what RPG doesnt have these. The FMVs are even tolerable, and the graphics are consistent between the FMVs and gameplay. I wish and pray that Sega will fill the void of Japanese RPGs on the XBox and create a Panzer Dragoon Saga 2.
Numan #21 Posted October 24, 2003 While I too hope for the day a sequel to PDS or even an enhanced version will come, seeing Panzer Dragoon Orta for $9.99 at Best Buy does not give me much hope.
Major Havoc 2049 #22 Posted October 24, 2003 While I too hope for the day a sequel to PDS or even an enhanced version will come, seeing Panzer Dragoon Orta for $9.99 at Best Buy does not give me much hope. Panzer Dragoon Orta is almost a year old now. While it was no blockbuster, PDO did fairly well sales wise. PDO debuted at the #9 spot on the US charts back in January and sold like around 69,000 copies(probably more than Saga's worldwide total) in that first month. Hopefully there will be some kind of Panzer sequel, either action or RPG. Hell, Gungrave sold far less than PDO and Sega is making another Gungrave game. Anyone play Smilebit's first Xbox effort, GunValkyrie? Another great, artistic, hard as nails(especially the twisted final boss) Sega game. I almost like GV better than PDO. chrisbid #23 Posted October 24, 2003 GV was a great concept, but i cant stand games where the challenge lies in learning the controls. I feel like im the last person on earth that still uses the digital pads whenever i can.
Major Havoc 2049 #24 Posted October 24, 2003 "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" Hey chrisbid, what is that quote from? Are you an Atari Teenage Riot fan? I don't know if ATR came up with that phrase, but I think it is in one of their songs....I'm just going by memory, but I think the name of the song is Revolution Action.
