New Xbox exclusive at Blockbuster!

Walked into my local Blockbuster tonight, and was met by this at the counter:

 

 

Like 9 Holes of Xmas before it, this one was $5.00 as well, and looks to be a mini version of Outlaw Volleyball, set in Hell, with new skimpy outfits for the players. Here's the copy from the back:

I stopped by 4 Blockbusters today and NONE of them had these discs. I bet the stinkin' employees are snatching them all up for themselves and are ebaying them.

Well, I grabbed the Matrix game for the GameCube today at my local BB, and lo and behold, they had a literal ton of them. I don't have an X-Box, though. Hehe. And the game looks to be really crappy. Anyway, why do us GameCubers get screwed!? All the cool stuff like this goes to the X-Box or the PS2! BAH! Oh, well, at least I can brag about getting Pac-Man Vs. free! Nyah, nyah!

I got this yesterday and it just might be worth $5.00 after 20 years. By then I might be able to convince someone that it was a prototype for a real game.

 

It has four main menu choices and it can't even get one of them right. The top two are swapped - pick one and you get the other. The bottom two are named properly, but the long description at the bottom of the screen is swapped between them.

 

It is clearly a demo product as most of the options (like outfits) can't be selected. It's so low in features that you only get 1 tutorial. The rest can't be selected.

 

(IMHO) Save your money and get a used copy of DOA Xtreme Volleyball instead.

Criminy, you expect a *lot* for $5.00. Admitted, a buggy program sucks, but it was only $5. Hell, the Mythicon games went for $9.99. Now *that* was a rip-off.

I doubt it will be worth that much. Blockbuster sold a special demo version of Outlaw Golf for Xbox last Christmas , and used copies of that only go for $8 or $9 on ebay. The same will probably be true for these Red Hot discs a year from now.

It's a year. Give it time. Give it about 5, 10 years, when there's actually a community of collectors for the xbox, and then you'll have a better price for it.

For $5, I could rent two really good games for a week. I played this for less than an hour.

 

If I had programmed this game, I would be doing the ostrich thing with my head buried in the dirt for letting such a simple thing as a menu get so screwed up.

 

Again, this is just my opinion.
