RCmodeler #1 Posted October 17, 2003 I already own a PS2 and Cube. The next time Microsoft drops the price, I plan to add an X-box to my collection. I already have a list of games I want to get: - Halo.... NOT! (I hate first-person shooters) - Dead or Alive 3 - Dead or Alive: XXX Volleyball (heh... my first dating game! - Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Oddworld: Munch's Oddyssey - Morrowind - Banjo-Kazooie 3 Any others I should add? (ASIDE: Anyone know what the N.U.D.E. Natural Ultimate Digital Experiment game is about? It seems that Xbox is becoming like the old Atari 2600 & Commodore=64... a place for fringe adult entertainment.) -------------- http://www.thelibertycommittee.org U.S. House of Representatives - The Liberty Caucus - "to restore individual liberty & freedom in the United States"

Buffy sux so stay away from that piece of shit. Splashdown is pretty kick ass, Rayman Arena and Rayman 3, Syberia and Myst 3 are cool if youre into that shit. I wont say the huge list of fps shooters since you arent into them.- and dont get to wild with xtreme beach volleyball, make sure youre doors are locked when you "play" with it

RCmodeler #18 Posted January 31, 2004 Well, it's confirmed. Microsoft is dropping the price to $99. But when? No matter. Thanks for your recommendations. Now I know what to get when they DO drop the price.

+kisrael #20 Posted January 31, 2004 if you're rejecting Halo out of hand, clearly you're a crack baby anyway, and so my suggestions might not work for you (they do say that Halo has attracted fans who don't like any other FPSs) but besides that, I've gotten great enjoyment out of Crimson Skies and Jet Grind Radio. And at some point I'll try Knights of the Old Republic, though I really hoped it was more of an "Action RPG" ala Zelda, not secretly "turn based" combat. liquid_sky #21 Posted February 1, 2004 Well, it's confirmed. Microsoft is dropping the price to $99. Uh, no. Learn how to do something called RESEARCH. Google is useful for things other than porn browsing, kid. RUMOR #1: Microsoft will drop the Xbox price to $99 by Labor Day and will have the Xbox 2 ready by 2005. Source: The latest Game Over column from CNN/Money games reporter Chris Morris. The official story: Microsoft did not respond to e-mails or voice mails. Shocker. What we heard: When Morris, one of the most game-savvy reporters in the mainstream media, wrote the speculative headline "Xbox for $99? Xbox 2 in 2005?" he probably knew some gamers would take it as gospel. (Those are question marks, people!) But thousands of subsequent forum posts have treated the price point--which comes from a single analyst--as all but official. But anyone who actually read the article knows that such a deep cut is far from a done deal. Microsoft already loses money on every $179 Xbox sold--dropping another $80 "would result in a flood of red ink," according to Morris. However, Morris astutely points out that Microsoft cares more about expanding its brand than filling its already overflowing coffers, so such a drastic measure isn't totally out of the question. He's a lot more skeptical about the Xbox 2 launching in 2005, a year before the PS3 is expected. "Showing your hand a year before the industry's 500 lb. gorilla does carries a significant amount of risk," says Morris. "Just ask Sega." Bogus or not bogus?: Semi-bogus. The consensus among game-industry insiders is there will be an Xbox price-cut this year. The only question is how big it will be.
