vanman #1 Posted October 18, 2003 What is a good price to pay for a NES?
Happy_Dude #2 Posted October 18, 2003 $1 would be a "good" price
chrisbid #3 Posted October 18, 2003 NES units are generally overpriced try to find a worn down one for cheap, then purchase a 72 pin connector from MCM electronics for 6 dollars and it will play like new
Nintendo Penguin #4 Posted October 18, 2003 A good price for a good working NES these days seems to be about $20-$25.... although it you buy one at Gamestop, you will pay $40.
sku_u #5 Posted October 18, 2003 I wouldn't pay 50 cents for an untested system. For a tested working system, expect to pay between $25 and $40 and around $150-200 if you want a top loader instead of a toaster.
jim #6 Posted October 19, 2003 I have paid anywhere from $2.00 to $10.00 for NES systems. At $10.00 I usually find them with controllers/hookups and sometimes even a few games. I have yet to get one that will not work with a bit of cleaning and pin bending. If I get a non-working unit I take it apart, remove the connector and bend each pin up a bit with an Xacto knife. It works everytime.

Jasoco #8 Posted October 19, 2003 I just need to get a convertor and I'll be set. Mine is my original NES from my childhood. But the connector is rapidly dying. I just keep putting off buying a new connector on eBay. Procrastinate much?

I cleaned mine real good and it started working like a dream. ... The pins are bent in so far it's no longer a ZIF socket, though.
