herr professor #1 Posted October 18, 2003 I was at the local thrift store today and in a box labeled NINTENDO GAMES 3.99 I saw about 12-15 cdi games in the hardshell case. I should've kept track of what they where but the names Tetris and golf spring to mind. Are these games worth anything to anyone? If you want me to check them out, I wouldn't mind going back to the shop for you, or tell you where it is in the nyc area. wOrD!
ianoid #2 Posted October 20, 2003 The answer is a resounding, echoing, NO. Anybody into CDI is cheap enough to realize that paying more than $1 apiece is highway robbery. I accumulated CDI for a little while. When I decided to unload the lot, I had trouble selling them at $2 apiece in a bundle on eBay. Finally I paid shipping to send them to a friend. Heavy pieces of crap. I'm sure there are some CDI fanatics, and there are a couple of games that have value, but the other 75 or whatever are C R A P. ian, down on CDI, but less down on 3D0
JagMX #3 Posted October 21, 2003 i know a good sack of games that are great to play on the cd-i - please let me know where this place is - the ones i want to go for go for a good amount on ebay and i cant afford much right now so real cheap is good for me right now and FYI tothe cd-i haters The video is great o nthe cdi and they do have some nice titles - but other than the good stuff, the large majority is all kids titles and bullshit "interactive" cd's again inform me on this place
SteveW #4 Posted October 21, 2003 I've always thought about getting an old CDi just to fill out my collection. How many software titles came out for it, and how many of them were actual grown-up games? The only games I can think of are Burn:Cycle and another one I played at a Best Buy on a CDi with the MPEG module that had a cheezy American anime style intro, and the game was basically you flying through a FMV city shooting aliens. That's about all I remember about the CDi, except for those Phil Hartman and Burn:Cycle TV commercials.
christianscott27 #5 Posted October 21, 2003 i'm a newly minted CD-I owner, praise be to flea market gods, a very cheap score, and i'd love to get my hands on some more titles. i'm not gonna say its a great system, but neither is the channel F or the 3-DO and i'm fool enough to collect those as well. if nobody else wants em give me a PM, i've got lots of other system games to trade. Lemmi #6 Posted October 21, 2003 the Hyperlink master is here to help (alittle) http://www.icdia.org/ <-- Lots of hardware info the best CDi site there is http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Capsule/35...3570/index.html http://www.classicgaming.com/blackmoon/ http://www.pmpro.com/consumer/consumer/games.html <-- this site is good for looking though to see what games you might like :-) i wouldnt buy from there cause ebay is alot cheaper on most of those titles , maybe all of those games and as you can see from my Sig i like both the 3DO and CDi
SteveW #7 Posted October 23, 2003 Okay, here's a question: Name your top five CD-I games, and why they're so good. I'd really like to know something about this system.
JagWarlord #8 Posted October 24, 2003 I think people arnt interested in the system because its like a learning machine/videogame system. I heard it has alot of learning games for kids... Id pick a 3DO over a CD-I system anyday. Atleast 3DO has one really unique and cool game, Captian Quazar. I can't think of any on the CD-I but, then again, I dont know much about the system.
