Atari Lynx I power adapter question

Recommended Posts

I just got a Lynx I at my local Flea market for $10 with 1 game. It came with a Radio Shack power adapter that was spliced for the right connector. The Lynx works with batteries but I am afraid to try it with the power adapter just in case someone just included the wrong type. Can someone tell me the right specs for the adapter and if I can use adapters from other portables like Gameboy and such? The included power supply is a Radio Shack with Input: 60Hz, 8W, Output V 300mA.

The part number is Cat. No. 20-188.

Thanks,

Allan

the adapter that comes with the lynx is

output of:9vdc 1amp and the center of the connector is +.

so as long as yours is 9 volt outputyou should be ok. with the output of yours being only 300mA the worst thing that would happen is you could overheat the transformer in the adapter, but it would not hurt the lynx.
