Great Vectrex starter system

Yeah? is the BIN a good price? I realize 6 games come with it. Any idea what games alone cost? Are there questions about the machine I need to ask this guy before bidding?

It is my system. I have owned about 15 Vectrex units over the years and this one is one of the better ones. I hate to part with it, but I have 2 and I just don't have room for both of them. If anyone on here buys it, I will include a free Air Sea Battle (gatefold version) for the Atari 2600 with it.

I vouch for mcgrail, he is honest. Don't know if you know this but most Vectrex systems make a humming/buzzing noise.

The buyer was upset because the system had the Vectrex "hum". This is not the same system that I sold him. Anyone who has ever owned a Vectrex knows about the "hum". The funny thing is that the guy who left me that feedback decided to sell the system and listed the sound as being good.

I sort've just "bought" one from Mcgrail.. but like CPUWiz's 7800 auction I can't check them out till Dec. 25 most likely if the females have their way Thing is with the Vectrex.. it has to oddly take a trip of 14000 miles roundtrip before it gets to me (and double the postage) ahh well..

Yeah, it's interference from lack of shielding. A little annoying, but easily ignored when playing.

 

Anyway, it's a pretty good deal and a great starter systems. No overlays, but they're not absolutely essential to play the games. I've seen solo Vectrex systems go for much more on eBay than this one's BIN. Hell, I saw a defiled Vectrex (some nob painted it silver -- silver!) sell for well over $100 US, and that was with no games.

The package will ship either parcel or priority. It depends on where the person lives who buys it. It is really expensive to ship a Vectrex priority to either of the coast or Alaska or Hawaii.

I've seen a webpage where a Vectrex fellow explains how to install a new operational amplifier in order to increase gain and kill the hum. I will search it again, if SO is interested...
