I like E.T.

Recommended Posts

I've learned to play it now... and it's still a bit crap :)

No bro.. you obviously don't know what crap is.

I own an Acorn Archimedes - so I think I've got a pretty good idea :)

There's a big difference between 'a bit crap' and 'the worst game ever written' though. After a bit of a play sesh today I thought it was better now I know what the hell I'm doing - but sometimes the collision detection is bloody infuriating (It looked as if I should be picking something up but in actual fact I fell down a bloody pit again - AARRGGHHhhhh)

I enjoyed it as a kid and though I know it could be better, you did do the best you could and that's what should count above all.
And this, ladies and gents, is what's delicately known as "brown-nosing". The trials and tribulations of software development are an interesting sidebar, but when it comes down to it the only thing that really matters is whether the game is fun or not..

I thought it was good. I'd rank it thusly:

Pitfall 2 - best

Jr. Pac-Man

Adventure

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Ms. Pac-Man

***E.T.***

Haunted House

Superman

Pac-Man

Fishing Derby

Outlaw

SwordQuest -worst

In other words, a "good" game, but not the best and not the worst. It had a few annoying bugs, but otherwise a fun game.

INSTRUCTIONS: Aren't they posted here on atariage? If yes, there's really no excuse to say, "I don't understand E.T." Just go read the intructions! If no, then go to atariguide.com to find them.

I concur, et is a good game, in the 50% out of a 100 range, etc. I just dont think it's anywhere near being a 10% game like people make it out to be.

I liked it when I was 10.

I liked it a year ago.

I liked it a couple of days ago when I played it and beat it.

It's a fun game.
