maibock #1 Posted October 30, 2003 My first ebay "situation" I suppose I win an auction for the Genny D+D game that the kids have been bugging me to win. As usual I pay as soon as I know I have won and send an email to the seller telling so. No response except that the paypal was accepted. I wait a few more days and email again - no response. Today(a week later) I email and I get this response "I am having a problem with the battery saving the game do you want a refund or the game still?" I think he might be saying this since it appears that I got a good deal on the game. I've seen these go for $10-$15 and I got it for 2.25. Do you think he's trying to get me to not take it so he can relist it? I have yet to find a Genny game which has had battery problems, but could this be true? here's the lsiting btw http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3053813237 Thanks
sku_u #2 Posted October 30, 2003 For 2.25 plus 3.95 shipping, I'd still take it. If the battery is dead, you are not out that much money and can still play the game. You just couldn't save it.
joeybastard #3 Posted October 30, 2003 Are the batteries replaceable in Genny games? What about NES/SNES games? I would still take it at that price too.
JerseyDevil #4 Posted October 30, 2003 I would take it anyway. He might be trying to back out because he got a better offer. If hes right, the battery can be replaced with a soldering iron, its pretty simple to do.
MegaManFan #5 Posted October 30, 2003 Don't let him weasel out. Take the game and if necessary replace the battery yourself.
Bratwurst #6 Posted October 30, 2003 A word of warning: not all Sega Genesis games use batteries but a type of flash memory. Games that use this are as old as Wonderboy in Monsterworld and 'recent' as Sonic the Hedgehog 3. If it uses a flash chip and it is dead (unable to be written to anymore) you may be able to swap it out from a cheap donor cart.
video game addict #7 Posted October 30, 2003 Well it does have the "100 percent money back guarante" Take it and the demand your money back when it doesn't work! Sounds to me like he doesn't want to sell to you now! It probably is fixable if the battery is dead. I have a Phantasy Star IV that doesn't work now. Sometimes carts die or batteries stop working it isn't unheard of but this doesn't seem right, it seems like he's trying to get out from selling to you!
