Nintendo Ads

Recommended Posts

What do people think of all the new "Who Are You" ads?

It reminds me of the Apple "Think Different" ads, but there is something about it that speaks of desperation to me...

It's like Nintendo is trying to convince the world that it's still relevant, that it's iconic. But the thing is, when you have a brand that is iconic, you don't NEED an ad campaign like that.

I feel it's a cry for attention too. But I like them. The SMA4/SMB3 commercial has that old vintage 1990 SMB3 "Mario! Mario! Mario!" feel.

It's cool. You got tons of japanese people running down the stret, jumping down manholes, running across closely spaced pillars, basically doing everything Mario would do.

The campaign is cool, though. Print ads feature photos with cut outs of Nintendo characters over peoples heads.

At work, I get to wear a cool button with "Who are you?" on it and pictures of Mario, Link and DK. Plus a big magnet with black movable magnetic box that allows you to choose who you want to be each day. It says "Today I am..."

I think Nintendo needs to hire the people responsible for the Apple ads. They have great ideas. Then they could hire the people who designed apple's products. I always thought the gamecube was a ripoff of Apple's Powercube.(I think that's the right name?) The gamecube is so boring. I still believe the N64 console was the best looking console ever designed with the PS2 in 2nd.

I kinda like them.

I prefer Nintendo's old ads:

I think it would be sweet if they went to thos old-style 80s ads that everyone remembers, but had them picture GameCube stuff instead.

Just my twisted mind at work I guess.  :D

Ah the ole Playing with power ads....that brings me back....erm anyways I love the new ads, there very creative...
