RCmodeler #1 Posted November 7, 2003 I just started playing this game today. I like the concept, and the cel-shaded graphics are *awesome* (even better than Zelda). But the actual game is... well, boring. It's basically the same thing over and over: - Collect 40 clue bottles. - Grab key at end. - Repeat until you get bored and sell the game. Sly Cooper is lacking the magic (and fun music) that Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie had. I doubt I'll finish it.
PaulEMoz #2 Posted November 7, 2003 I saw the same post on Lemon64 and replied, so I'm going to copy my reply here too: I have to disagree there. I thought Sly Cooper was enormously good fun, full of character and 'magic', and one of the best games I've got on the PS2. Little touches like the 'sneaking' music are great, the characters are all excellent, and the gameplay is absolutely classic platform stuff, and is neither too easy nor too difficult. I'm a huge fan of the game.

+-^CrossBow^- #4 Posted November 7, 2003 He hasn't played it far enough to get to the first "Save Murray" Shooting sequence yet! Those are pretty fun and should be seperate minigames all on their own. The racing later is also pretty decent though short. But yes, I agree. I loved Sly Cooper! It actually reminds me more of Jak and Daxter in that in that game you run around lush enviroments with lots of jumping and such and collect Orbs and powercells. However, Sly has more variety in the game play overall. Some of the jumps and such are real challenge in that game but I found the last shooting sequence with the hacking to be the most difficult for me. Although Nostalgic in origin...hehe.. I will leave it up to RCModler to find out more on his own. All I can tell you is to keep playing if for a bit longer and see what it has to offer. The level layout is really pretty cool as well. vanman #5 Posted November 7, 2003 That game was too easy, I would sell it but I got it for my Birthday. That and it is a greatest hits now so I would only get $4 for it when the person who gave it to me paid $
Yar #6 Posted November 8, 2003 I'm agreeing here-I love that game to death-got all of the pages, too. Right up there with Maximo on the "Awesome PS2 Platformer" list.
