Well, it looks like I got hosed

Recommended Posts

If you recall this situation where I suspected they guy didn't want to sell a game that I had won on his auction simply because it was under valued..

I asked him to ship the game anyway, but he said "no it's defective" and returned my money. Ok great I got my money back, but I still think it was wrong. So I nicely led him to believe that I knew what he was doing and here's his reply if you can believe it.

"Oh man OH MAN

i REALLY DON'T LIKE PEOPLE ACCUSING ME OF BEING A LIAR i I, AM, WITH YOU HERE.

with this cart you cannot save the game. I did not test that tell after the auction and without being able to save an rpg is no good. I am not keeping it to make extra money. This game is fairly COMMON my VIDEOGAME STORE HAS A COPY OF IT FOR $5 NOW. i AM GOING TO INSTALL THE BATTERY AND RELIST IT AT A STARTING BID OF 4.95 BECAUSE THESE BATTERIES COST ME AND ITS WORK AS WELL. "

and my reply:

"This just proves my point. Why won't you sell me the "fixed" game at the auction price to save you reputation? Had I sold a "bad" item, I most certainly would try to make good on it. Up to this point I thought perhaps we can work something out on our own. This just leads me to believe you want to sell your game at a higher price. I'm quite miffed at this with your high feedback count that you wouldn't try to resolve something and move on."

Should I leave this guy a negative? I only have 5 or 6 feedbakcs without a negative, will he give me one back?

thanks!

I would tell him I will be leaving a negative and see what he says. Just the fact that he DIDN'T give you a positive the minute you paid makes him suspect. You held up your end of the deal, and he still hasn't left you feedback??? He obviously is holding out for the retaliation negative, so as for actually leaving one yourself, expect he will do the same.

Have you contacted ebay and/or filed a complaint? Maybe they can do something.

He will give you one back. NOt worth it. You can give him one at the last minute before the time litmit is up. I cant remeber how that works. Somone on here can tell you. I would do that for sure. :D

Unfortunately, that doesn't work. You can leave a negative any time as long as you hold onto the auction ID# and seller's name.

If he does not know how to do this, you could try leaving a negative after 89 days, 23 hours and 55 minutes have passed. He won't have time to leave a negative unless he saved your information which is doubtful.

how do you leave feedback after 90 days? i kept a seller id plus the auction number, but trying to leave feedback now always says the auction is past 90 days and i cannot leave feedback. are you sure this is possible? if i search for transactions with that seller, it says i have none in the past 90 days. what ebay web page do you use for feedback after 90 days?

I agree, I am not able to leave feedack after 90 days either but my only thought is that maybe you can only leave a negative after 90 days. Maybe the 90 day rule only applies to Positive feedback which I think is silly but you never know. Just a thought.

:)

Why didn'y you agree to buy the game as faulty and install the battery yourself - that would give him no excuse not to send it. If there is a flat battery in the cart then he was telling the truth.

You could neg him with SELLER REFUSES TO SEND GAME but you will only get one back. I would try and resolve this with the seller by using the above. Batteries are not that expensive.

I haven't done this is a while, but there was a thread about how to do this here from a while back. Doing a search for it might help.

Yeah, in my link above, the guy gave me a choice of him offering a refund or him sending the game to me "as is" with the known battery defect. I told him to go ahead and ship the game. He returned the money instead. Now he wants to relist the item at a higher price..

some people are too greedy and they are also stupid. I mean, if you want to go higher, bid on it yourself (stupid) or list it higher in the first place.

I found the page. I think this is the page you can use to leave feedback after 90 days have passed. You'll need to sign in to view it. Please LMK if any of you are successful in doing so:

Here is a copy (partly edited because I still do not have the package) of an email that I received from a seller.

Hello Sean,

The package will be sent out to you today.

I'm sorry for the Delay...

When I went to check my e-mail, someone had told me

that "Game X" (edited) was worth over $100 alone.

It took alot of personal conviction not to lie to you and tell you

that it was not available... Greed is an evil monster... and I am trying

to live my life right by God and it was so tempting to cancel the

transaction and relist that game alone... but my integrity is worth

more than the game could ever bring. I should be thankful that

I got what I wanted for an old pile of video games that I had

very little money invested in myself. Congratulations on your

purchase. I wish you well with it.

God Bless,

Maybe someone emailed your seller and told him that it was worth more.

I would neg this guy.. even if he retaliates.. . I would also CALL him,, let him know that an ebay auction is a contract, and you dont care if its 2 dollars or a million,, its the princable. I hate tight asses.. greedy bastards.. enron managment,, etc:) Report him to ebay.. if he negs you, simply put a response that says Retaliation Neg and most people will figure it out. his on the other hand will be harder to exsplain. Id rather take a neg than let a greedy guy go free! You have so few feedbacks you could just start a new ebay account..
