Hehehe... Vanman is like a little Jasoco. Going aroung posting Jasoco-like topics. :D

Anyway, the answer I got when I asked the same thing is...

First, consider, is it something you're going to want to play? Do you actually plan on selling it again? If you want to play it, or touch it, or actually USE it, open it. Unless you are going to play it, or have a sneaking suspicion that the game may rise in value in a few years, open it.

It comes down to "Do you want to play it?"

I opened my sealed X-Band modem knowing I couldn't use it, but I wanted to touch it. (And yes, it still works. You can't dial out, but it does have a setup and the graphics and ambient sound is really nice. Too bad it will probably never connect to another Genesis again.)

I opened two Genesis games sealed that suck anyway just to try them out.

Open that sucker! Whatever it is.

I have no plans to resell my collection. So Ifrom now on, NOTHING I buy will stay sealed. If anything, I will open it and try it once. But it will be opened.

That would depend on why you bought it. Game Players useually buy stuff they want to play, so they'd probably open it. But collectosr buy stuff for collection purposes, and unopened, it'd be worth more as a collection piece. Then there's the hybrid gamer/collector who buys anything, plays what's open, opens unopened stuff and plays it, if they don't have dupes, and puts it away for a collection if they do have dupes.

That's me. The third one. Hybrid. :D

Depends on the game. What is it and how rare is it? If you are likely to find another sealed one, open it and play it. If not, try to pick up a loose one first.

But I usually open mine. I want to PLAY 'em more than anything else.

Depends on the game. But I have yet to come across a game I wouldn't

open. There are so many 2600/7800 games from the Oshea stash that

opening doesn't affect their price buy a cent. I feel that for most common

7800 games there are more MISB games than loose ones.

Unseal it. Give it the loving it was wrongfully denied in it's original release.

...

Unless it's known shit. Then leave it sealed, so the evil can't escape and infect your other games.

Little-known fact is that all broken game consoles died because too many bad games were stuck in them and the evil finally killed them.

As I always do, if I get a sealed game, it stays sealed. If I really wanna play it I'll go find a loose or open-boxed copy somewhere. I have a couple of sealed games, and sealed they'll stay.
