Game type you most like to play

Recommended Posts

I'd say Action/Adventure for me. Parasite Eve's, the Oddworld's, Omikron, something with a good story to flesh out, and a large sprawling world to investigate. I'm trying to find a new one to play in the DC library but I think I've picked it clean...

I like to play the fun ones.

Heheh, actually, I like pretty much all games equally... except that I don't much care for survival horror games. I don't hate them, I just never seem to be able to get "into" them. Some of my favorite genres are platform games (2D and 3D), fighting games (mostly 2D), tank games, and Tony Hawk games.

I like games where you have a ship, or cannon and SHOOT things. I especially like the "space invaders" shooters. Demon Attack, Galaga, Centipede, Phoenix...put me at the bottom of the screen with a good laser cannon and I DARE you little bastards to make it down here! :x

We just got gameboy SP's for both my kids...I think I use it to play Galaxian more than they play Kirby and Spyro...

Pretty much any game involving blowing things up though. From Asteroids to Halo.

Action/Adventures and FPS - but pretty much any game thats good to play is good.

A bad FPS is not much fun even if you like FPS's

My least favourite games are the Tony Hawk style trick games (and all its clones) and Fighters - probably because I'm rubbish at them.

I don't much enjoy games where you control a person. ie. Zelda, platform games, FPS. I prefer anything with a vehicle of some type (though I hate 'realistic' car games)

I also like unstructured games with no threat like Animal Crossing. I think they challenge perceptions of what games are (ie. NOT 'do that, die, do it again 'till you don't die')

Perfect titles for me: Rogue Leader, Burnout 2, Ridge Racer 4, Panzer Dragoon Saga - bloody hell, they're all sequels! Good grief :?

My favorite type of game would have to be automobile/vehicular combat types of games, like Vigilante 8 on the Dreamcast. I love almost any kind of game where you shoot from cars. I am one of the few people who love the game Fatal Run on the Atari 7800. My favorite Sega Genesis game was Outlander, which was kind of an extension of Fatal Run, in which you had to get out at the towns in side-scroller mode and fight/scrounge for supplies. The best part of Outlander would have to be when one of the bikers gets right behind your car, and you slam on the brakes. You see his burning body fly over the hood of the car. Sweet!

i am a fan of games with a historical spin, such as the dynasty warriors series, and i also love meditative games like amped snowboarding where you can just play to play and have no set goals nothing you cant do just interactivity.

Let's see,

I like games like Grand Theft Auto, Medal of Honor, the Smackdown series and so forth.

Any game that has badass characters, lots of guns or weapons and tons of replay value.

Lots of action. I like sports games occasionally, but I prefer platformers and wacky adventure games. High quality RPG's are always good. About the only thing I don't get into much are FPS and/or games with nauseating 3-D camera effects.

Hard to choose, because I like DDR, Racing Games, and RPGs. Probably Role-Playing Games is my absolute favorite, because I enjoy a good story and strategy-based battles.

FPS, Adventure

Not EVERY FPS. I'm partial to FPS games with vehicles, objectives, and real teamplay potential, like Battlefield 1942 (Desert Combat, beeznatches!), and possibly UT2K4.

Anything except sports and "party" games.

Most "party" games are shiite, but if you happen across the accidentally good multiplayer game (like the 4-player mode for Godzilla) they become "party games" all their own. Still if they ever drop the price on Mario Party 4 (I can't believe they put out 5 and 4 is still retailing for the full $50) I'll consider it.

I utterly loathe sports games, mostly because I utterly loathe sports. The two absolute exceptions to this are wrestling and boxing. I LOVE a good boxing game, and I'm a total goon for wrestling games of all types. My number one game type is RPG's. Second to that, a good action/adventure game (and hey, Foxy, you liked Omikron too! That game RULED! Too bad I couldn't get past the stinkin' final shooter phase...). I love survival horror games (in fact, I'm playing through Resident Evil Zero as we speak), but I'm not a huge FPS fan. Metroid Prime and Medal of Honor being the exceptions to this of course. Did I mention I hate sports games?

Favorite genres are FPS, shooters, action/adventure, 3D fighters, rpg's, flight/space combat sims, lightgun games and racers. Not a big fan of 2D fighters, puzzle games and cute platformers, just can't get into cute platformers. I love sports, but for some reason, not a big fan of sports video games, but do enjoy a good baseball or golf video game every now and then.

Looove 3D shooters, like Cybermorph, Battlemorph, Iridion 3D, Soul Star, StarFox, Wing Arms, Crimson Skies, GunValkyrie, Panzer Dragoon series, etc.

I love classing arcade games.

Besides those, I really enjoy GT3, and other modern driving games, as well as modern sports games like Madden Football, FIFA, and Rugby.

I like old school action/adventure games the most. Shooters, fighting games, and arcade style games round out my favorite genres.

What DON'T I like?

*RPG's

*FPS (some are OK like Halo and Marathon provided they have a story...I can't stand the mindless Quake3/UT games though)

*3D platformers

*Dance Dance or Bemani games

While I do enjoy a nice game of CTF in Quake III every now and then, my favorite genre is Sports. Right now, my favorite game would be NCAA Football 2004.
