Clint Thompson #1 Posted November 19, 2003 hmm.. anyone have any ideas on what all this madness is? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...9&category=3537
bjk7382 #2 Posted November 19, 2003 I seen those, I doubt they would fire up. and I don't see any madness yet. They have only gone up 3 dollars from the start price. They are probly prototypes though, but I doubt they work.
Clint Thompson #3 Posted November 19, 2003 Yea, they don't even look like there are any SIMM slots for memory or anything. Just kidna wondered (was doing a serach for Atari Server ) and that came up. I'm a prototype junkie so I was jus curious btw, madness was used loosely in the message, it's just there for the using
Atari_Owl #4 Posted November 19, 2003 They're probablu just MoBos for the ABC 286 computers that atari did. I've got ads for them somewhere from Silica Shop
Tempest #5 Posted November 19, 2003 Yeah they look like normal Atari ABC boards to me. I don't know why Ian thinks they're protos. Maybe there's some marking on them I can't see? Tempest

The only thing prototype about them is they have the 1st issue custom chips in the sockets, everything else is the same as the production boards. The markings on the custom chips starting with ST is not for the ST computer but is the numbering designation for STyra Corporation. Atari bought STyra Corporation and they used them for most of the chip design and fabrication work from about 88-92. I have 2 PC4's, they are nice computers, with an ethernet board, their 3.5", 5.25" and Syquest drive comes in handy for transferring stuff over to my main system.
