Tyrant #5 Posted November 20, 2003 I'll be up there, probably bringing along a few rotaries to sell too should anyone wish to stop me and buy one, Im not going to be running anything or showing anything or so on, just wandering arround participating, chatting etc.
lais #6 Posted November 20, 2003 Who else is going to JFM? Atari area This section will be packed with fun and excitement from the following parties: 1. MyAtari magazine: UK team members Matthew Preston will be bringing along mint condition examples of Atari 8-bit hardware, from the early days of the XL series through to the 130XE. Classic games, demos that will blow your mind and PC integration on show. With an 800XL linked to a PC laptop, networking, printing and on-line gaming become a reality. A choice of three window-based GUIs to choose from with whole suites of software to see. A lifetime's gaming and software still powerful enough to run a small office will be on show, oh yes and you can use a mouse, trackball, or Atari Touch Tablet with them as well. Thomas Wellicome and Shiuming Lai will be showing Atari's legendary 2600 console, new games for which are still being developed today, and its rare and underrated end-of-line descendant, the backward-compatible 7800. The MyAtari team will be on-hand to answer all your questions about the magazine, and will also provide two Jaguars for the gaming competition sponsored by 16/32 Systems. Late breaking news: Elliot Swanton of the MyAtari team is also attending, with his CT60 Falcon! 2. 16/32 Systems Need something special for your Atari collection? Nick Harlow will once again provide the shopping therapy, by bringing his Aladdin's Cave of Atari delights, covering the entire spectrum of Atari gaming and computing. Supporting Nick will be Atari collector Richard Stevens, demonstrating the excellent document processor, Papyrus, on his super-fast 68040 powered Milan Atari-compatible computer. 16/32 is kindly donating prizes for the Atari gaming competition, co-hosted with Gary Taylor, organizer of the smash-hit JagFest UK 2003 convention earlier this year in Rochester, Kent. Nick Turner (Tyrant) will provide his superb Jaguar rotary controllers for the Tempest 2000 competition - you may even be able to purchase controllers if he has stock left of these sought-after items! 3. Cheshunt Computer Club (CCC) Peter West and Mark Branson will be representing the ever-popular UK Atari club, with Atari Falcon computers demonstrating various software applications. Mark will also have his turbocharged CT60 accelerator, showing for the first time ever a 68060 design with full-speed bus mode (external bus and up to 512 MB memory at the same speed as the CPU core clock) and SDRAM controller! If you own an Atari computer, you need to join this club! Meetings are monthly and open to everyone. The atmosphere is friendly and there's always something interesting happening and people to meet. Tyrant #8 Posted November 21, 2003 I'll be bringing up the 3 rotaries that were used at JFUK, which I'll be lending to either Gaztee or Nick H, who are going to run a tournament with them I believe. I am NOT going to run one myself hehe (anyone who was at JFUK will know why lol, lots of stress for me, this time Im just a visitor, tho I'll have some rotaries with me to sell too). But next year at JFUK 2k4 I'll try to do another tournament.
+Saturn #9 Posted November 21, 2003 You dudes are so lucky. Ya get to go to cool Jag shows and hang out. I wish it was within my means to be there, too. Meeting all you guys in person would rock- almost as much as showing off my (non)skills at T2K.
