+johnnywc #1 Posted November 20, 2003 Hello all, First - I would like to congratulate Jess Regan on his hack of Galaxian (aka Galaxian Arcade) - it's fantastic!! I do have a question about the colors - is there any plan on making the colors of the enemies match the colors of the arcade more closely (ie. with blue, purplue, red and yellow)? I know this has been discussed before - did anything ever become of it? Thanks!
SS #2 Posted November 20, 2003 Nothing has happened yet, AFAIK. I hope that it does eventually; I was all set to buy the thing when the update discussion started. Consequently, I'm still "Galaxian Arcade"-less.
Thomas Jentzsch #3 Posted November 20, 2003 Changing the color is probably no big deal, but shouldn't be done (officially ) without the permission of the original hacker(s).

LOL Probably not, but I wouldn't like anybody to build a hack one somebody elses labor of love without permission. I think a hacker getting permission to hack is like asking a politician to get permission to lie! They do what they do...ask no questions and give no apologies! It's just the way of things! Thomas Jentzsch #7 Posted November 21, 2003 Ok, before continueing this discussion forever , how exactly do you want the colors? I suppose you want to base the new hack on Cybergoth's Galaxian hack (which is based on Jess Ragan's hack), right?
Cybergoth #8 Posted November 21, 2003 Hi there! I think I even posted the color locations back then. Part of the problem with the imperfect colors is the available palette. (No matter how you put it, there is no yellow in it!) Greetings, Manuel

Granted I'm in NTSC-land, but at least on the 2600 I was able to get an acceptable Pac-Man Yellow, unlike on the Odyssey 2.....

I took a look at your O2 Pac-man screenshot. Pac-Man looks a bit pale! ..Al
