Quick Conversion Question

The only reason the colecovision could play 2600 games is because it was a more powerful system. so therefore it is impossible to play better games on an older system.

Nope, no such thing. The two systems are much too different internally.

 

The Atari-compatible Coleco expansion module was actually a self-contained 2600 clone. It just used the Colecovision unit for power, video/audio output, and (I think) a clock signal.

So in theory you can have a Colecovision adapter that works on Atari 5200? It does have AV pass through like the 2600 adapter.

 

Heck, you could probably make an XBox adapter for the 5200. I'd suggest renforced concrete slabes to set the 5200 on before mounting the XBox, both of the beasts are huge and combined, weighting more than an obese elephant.
