Have any of you guys seen these floating around? i have seen several local at flea's and in thrifts...I have seen them go for as low as $20 around here. I'm starting to wonder if maybe a local contractor didn't make these for NES and ended up dumping leftovers to the locals or something?

These things were given to developers when they reached certain sales numbers, not an easy item to aquire.

no shit...I am going out looking this weekend...last time I saw one was about a month ago. Most I have seen have either blank plates or no plate at all, I thought it was a bookend the first time I saw one. lol

 

If I can score some I'll share with you guys that collect NES stuff, not looking to make a killing on them.

Blank plates are probably worthless but if it has a company name on it that's a whole different story.

Actually I think there was a commercial Mario Statue as well as a few other Nintendo related figures that was released, very similar to this, but not with a brass statue. I'd be willing to bet that's what Mock's thinking he saw. I think Adam has one of these right? His was on ebay before too, once when he won it, I seem to recall it when much cheaper than this $75ish I think, then when he went crazy and listed it on a free list day with a $2000 BIN!
