Sears Collection Complete, Almost...

Recommended Posts

With a couple recent Ebay purchases, I now have every Sears game in my collection, with the exception of six Sears picture label games. They are:

Adventure

Asteroids

Basketball

Night Driver

Pong Sports

Gunslinger

Does anyone have any of these for sale/trade?

Do you have 'Superman' with picture label?

I remember reading the thread about that a few months back, but no I don't have that cart. I didn't include that one on the list because I figured it was a one of a kind thing that no one else is going to have. Also, it's still not listed in the Atari Age database.

Also, it's still not listed in the Atari Age database.

As I'm sure you already know, many interesting things aren't in the AA database. ;)

But yeah, I don't know what to make of the picture label 'Superman' either. It's at least a 6, but I think it's closer to a 9. It's on my master list all the same, and I'm actively searching for it.

Anyway, nice work on your Sears collection. You're much closer to completing it than I am. I still need about a dozen carts, not including s/n variants.

umm, is that the boxed picture label gunslinger with the docs that say "video arcade" at the top and the warranty box on the back of the box that is almost as wide as the box? if so, i'm interested, name your asking price.

No it's the text label version. Actually it's the 699822 box & docs and the 4975109 text label cart. I must of mixed it up at some point. LOL

Also kind of weird the title & number game variations (16) on the manual are yellow where the box is red.

And the front of my box has a sticker that covers the bottom part of the picture. The stick has the "for 1 or 2 players" & "16 games" but basically blacks out the background of the pic, so the 16 is more prominent. Kind of different. :ponder:

But no it's not the one you are searching for.

I'm just working on getting all the label variations for now, then maybe I'll worry about the different serial numbers.

I have a weird box variaiton for Gunslinger where the variations number is wrong (I think it says 14 instead of 16). It actually had a piece of paper with the correct number on it taped over it. Anyone else seen this variation?

BTW the cart had the correct number of variations listed.

i saw that version on ebay, maybe that is the one you have. it could be that cheap paper was the first "correction" they made when they realized the misprint. then they produced a more official looking correction sticker which you don't really notice most of the time if you see it on ebay. then they fixed the box which is the one shown on atariage.

Here’s my updated Sears want list:

Basketball (picture label)

Gunslinger (picture label)

And this time I’m including a list of carts and other stuff I have available for trade....

The following are all Sears games. Everything is good to excellent condition with all labels intact unless otherwise noted:

Target Fun (with gatefold box and instructions, very nice shape)

Tank Plus (with gatefold box and instructions, top of box is a bit rough, otherwise very nice)

Football (with box and instructions, very nice shape)

Baseball (with box and instructions, box is a bit rough, cart and inst. are in very nice shape)

Breakaway IV (with box and instructions, cart and inst. are very nice, box is pretty rough)

3D Tic-Tac-Toe (text)

Arcade Golf (text)

Blackjack (Picture label–the large label is a bit scuffed and has some writing on it.)

Brain Games (text)

Brain Games (text–has a small sticker on it)

Canyon Bomber (Picture label!, very good condition. This is one of the hardest Sears games to find)

Capture (text)

Circus (text)

Demons to Diamonds (picture label)

Dodger Cars (text)

Missile Command (picture label)

Missile Command (text)

Othello (text)

Outer Space (picture label)

Pac-man (picture label)

Space Combat (picture label)

Speedway II (picture label)

Spelling (text)

Star Raiders

Stellar Track (text–both labels are there, but the large one has some bubbles on it)

Tank Plus (text)

Target Fun (text)

Yars’ Revenge (picture label–with instructions which are a little rough)

Help me out here everyone!

You can get them here for $7 a pair, but they are not NIB:

You have to scroll down a ways.

Looks like they have good prices on some things. Have you bought anything from them before?

Yes, I've bought from them many times. I highly recommend them.

Great call sku_u! I just got a Sears Adventure Picture label from them for $4.00. So now I only need Basketball, Gunslinger, and Night Driver. 8)

In what may be my first legitimate snipe, I just snagged a Sears picture label Night Driver with two seconds to go.

So now I need only two more Sears pic labels:

Basketball

Gunslinger

I'm almost there!

Nice!

I'm having a heck of a time getting the last half dozen Sears picture labels I need.

It dosen't surprise me that Gunslinger is among the last of your hold-outs. It's a rarity '5' in the AA database, but I think it should be bumped up to a rarity '6'. 'Superman' aside, I think 'Gunslinger' is the hardest "known" Sears picture label to acquire. 'Gunslinger' is far harder to find than 'Submarine Commander', another rarity '5', and also more difficult to find than 'Canyon Bomber', a rarity '6'.

Unfortunately, yes. I'm looking for the following picture labels: Gunslinger, Pong Sports, Poker Plus, Basketball, Baseball, and Canyon Bomber.

Except for 'Gunslinger', I've had opportunities lately to get them all, but they were either in large lots that I didn't want to hassle with, or else I was just too cheap. However, you've inspired me, and I'm going to make an concerted effort to finish of Sears in the next month or two.

I've been looking for a Sears "soccer" cart for 6 months now. It's the last tile I need. Only one I saw sold for $8.00 loose on ebay. That's just too much for me on this item... I do think it's one of the harder to find Sears titles. Especially the box for it.

I swear to God, I never see a Cannon Man anywhere, and I still need one of those.

I got Cannonman in a huge lot about three years ago, then sold it for about $35.00 IIRC. I snagged it again via a $13.00 BIN about six months ago. That auction wasn't up for very long. ;)

CS, I do have an extra Poker Plus pic label, but I have not been able to get it to work despite multiple cleanings. Hence, it's not on my trade list. You have any ideas on this? The label is in good shape.

I forgot about Cannon Man. I need that one too.

I've had a few carts that behaved similarly. Sometimes you can decide if a cart is really dead, or if it just needs cleaning, by whether you get a consistent graphic pattern or sound when you load the cart.

Also, have you tried the cart on a different console? I've had a few carts that would not work in my 2600 no matter how much I cleaned them, but worked fine in my 7800. :?

I hate giving up on carts, especially label gems like 'Poker Plus'. If you are able to get it working, let me know...I'd love to trade you for it. :)

I picked up a cannon man with a lot of games for $15 about four months ago on ebay. I bought it with about 10 other common games. No one seemed to notice the cannon man... :)

What do you think a complete boxed Cannon man would bring on epay? I'm guessing around $100.

I've noticed recently that prices of certain complete 2600 games have gone up staedily in recent years. I remember passing up two or three boxed Cannon Man's in 1999 and 2000 which sold for much less than $20 IIRC. Kicking myself now.
