Video Cube...fun?

Atari Video Cube was donated to my collection recently by a very generous benefactor, and I finally got around to playing it. It's actually fun! Like Rubik's cube, but not exactly the same. The cube rotation animation is nice and the time challenge is addictive! I think its pretty good, for a rare game. And you can forget about the games where you can't see the colors, save when rotating! Sheesh!

 

one oddity. according to the manual, you can set the Color/BW switch to BW and play the game. What? The game is about matching colors! How do you play this with shades of gray!!!! Nutty.

I know that it’s not the most popular titles around but I, for one, love it! It makes for good quick fun.

I guess I never understood how to play it. I think Rubik's Cube 3d would be better, at least you can see more than one side at a time without having to turn the cube.

 

I also like playing Cubicolor with 2 people on the supercharger.

Yeah, I'm on the fence with that, on one side, not seeing more than one side at a time makes it a challenge, but on the other side, it slows things down a bit. My biggest problem is that you cannot occupy a square the same color as the square you are carrying.

 

Still a good 5 mins of fun!

Or super cubes for the 8-bits, then I select the 2x2x2 cube, so I have a chance at beating it.

God, I love Video Cube. It's a great puzzler. I didn't know it was rare, then again, I never check on stuff I have, just stuff I don't have and want to get.

It's a real easy game. You can start on one, since that's the untimed game, your characture is the color of the tile you are holding, you cannot walk over a tile the same color as your characture. The object is to cary a tile to one screen, drop it, picking up the tile you dropped it on, and take that to a different screen. You do this for all the colors and try to make each side of the cube a single color.

 

Man, isn't that rotating graphic awesome? I still find it intriguing, 8 colors in a row during that time (for the row your characture's on)

I just checked the guide, it's a rarity 7, maybe I shouldn't be playing it?

 

BTW, I have the Box and Docs, I noticed they didn't have a docx scan, or a pic of the box. How do I submit this?

I have both Rubiks cube and Video cube and I don't like to play either of them. If I want to play with a rubiks cube, I'll just play with the one my sister has.

Why not? Last I checked, playing a game didn not decrease its rarity.

I love setting it where you can only move up or to the right. My fasted time on the easy timed game is a little over minute and a half.
