+RangerG #1 Posted December 4, 2003 Hello, Help! I have emailed twice Chris C. at the link on the Classic Gamer magazine site. I know the magazine discontinued over a year ago, but I was hoping the CD of issues 1-6 offered on the website was still available. Does anyone know if I can still order it or would anyone be kind enough to make me a copy if they have one? I will gladly pay the price on the website (I think it is $11). I really enjoyed that magazine. When my fiancee (now my wife) lived in Cambridge, MA, I would always stop in the local Tower Records whenever I visited and twice they had copies. It would be great to have the rest of the issues. Thanks for any help, RG
Snider-man #2 Posted December 4, 2003 I'll never part with mine, nor my entire run of first-run color print issues. But here's an e-mail address for Cav that should be up-to-date. Hit him up here: [email protected]
NE146 #3 Posted December 4, 2003 What's in these cd's anyway.. Any chance you could rip/rar/and upload those somewhere sniderd00d?
Snider-man #4 Posted December 4, 2003 What's in these cd's anyway.. Any chance you could rip/rar/and upload those somewhere sniderd00d? If Cav's still selling them, not a chance. It'd be like ripping and posting the Stella Gets a New CD files. Just ain't a nice thing to do to a forum member.

Snider-man #6 Posted December 4, 2003 Full PDFs of every page of every issue of Classic Gamer Magazine (issues 1 - 6) plus "extras" too numerous to mention. But nothing you haven't seen before. But just having all the issues archived is truly nice.
+RangerG #7 Posted December 4, 2003 Chris contacted me. Great guy and he still has copies of the CD ($10) - thanks Sniderman!
Phosphor Dot Fossils #8 Posted December 5, 2003 Enjoy - those of us who worked on it still stand by it as some of our finest work.
Cav #9 Posted December 5, 2003 Wow! Thanks for all the kind words and renewed interest. Yes, the CD's are still for sale. PayPal is preferred. Incidentally, I do still owe people refunds from unfulfilled subscriptions. If you are one of those people (I keep a handy dandy list) I'd be more than happy to trade a CD and close your account. Just give the word. It would also help me out immensely. Also, the Classicgamer.com website is one big screwy mess at the moment. Being as I can't access it at the moment (I won't bore you with the details on that) the mailing address isn't accurate. I hope to remedy that soon though. This is why PayPal is preferred for now. My [email protected] e-mail is now just a sea of spam so it's best to get ahold of me at: [email protected] For those who wanted to know what was on the CD, it's basically what Mr. Sniderman said. All six issues in PDF format are on one disc. For some reason I'm drawing a blank on the "extras." I'm pretty certain there is the original black and white "run it up the flagpole and see if anyone salutes" issue, which contains a few articles not in the official "issue #1." The biggest standout being an article about the first CGExpo [when it was World of Atari 98]. Now, if I could just get my act together I'd ultimately like to round up the gang and see if we couldn't throw something together if only for a free downloadable issue and/or toss it out on CD-Rom. That is if anyone is interested in having something like that. Sadly, I can't print any more copies. If you knew how much the printed magazine cost me you'd probably soil yourself. Believe it or not I'm not even entirely sure I have a complete printed set for myself. I just may have to steal Sniderman's set next time I'm in his area. Now about having Sniderman copy the cd and giving it out...I cast my vote against that. But I may be a bit biased on the subject. If anything, get it to see what some of your fellow forum members have written. Tim Snider and Earl Green (among others) wrote some really entertaining articles. Take care everyone and happy holidays! -Cav
Cav #10 Posted December 5, 2003 Whoops! I meant to post to URL's in prior ramblings... Here's what's in Issues 1-5: http://www.classicgamer.com/backissues.htm Here's what's in Issue #6: http://www.classicgamer.com/current6.html And if you go to the homepage there are some sample PDF articles (as well as a short story by Brett Weiss) that were supposed to be in the Issue #7 [that never was]: http://www.classicgamer.com/
+RangerG #11 Posted December 5, 2003 Chris, I sent you the $ via Paypal. I second or third that the magazine was great. -RG
NE146 #12 Posted December 5, 2003 Yeah I'd like a copy of that cd as well. I'd always frequent the local Tower Records to see if they had the latest issue whenever they came out...but I always seemed to just miss it. Thus my collection of the magazine consists of a grand total of two issues
