TwiliteZoner #1 Posted December 4, 2003 For those of you old enough to remember this show walk, no run to this link to see these shows. You can download the shows if you like. Clint Thompson #2 Posted December 4, 2003 Heh... yea, those are awesome and Archives is cool to have around! It's just too bad they don't have a lot of other atari-related video footage from the 80's - 90's there! Maybe someday!
Curt Vendel #3 Posted December 5, 2003 Clint... there is more, you just have to search the archives, there are episodes showing the 1st proto of the ST being demo's, an ST vs. Amiga comparision, looks at Atari 800 software and some other episodes.... its a real treat also to see Gary Kildall of DRI, the father of PC GEM (ST TOS), Memory Management on the PC, CD-ROM access on the PC and much more.... too bad Billy Gates took all the credit for Gary's fine work. Clint Thompson #4 Posted December 5, 2003 Heheh.. Curt.... yea I actually downloaded them like 4 months ago when they were in that stupidly high video format and was 1GB each and required a special player VLC or something on the mac just to play (didn't check to see if they are still in that stupid 1GB bandwidth hogging format) *however the last one had options, I went with the MPEG4 , very nice* The one linked above however is new to me... at least, I didn't see it somehow? (maybe it was either just recently added or I coudln't download it because archives was getting hit badly or something cuz I couldn't download anything for quite some time there then I guess just forgot to re-check! Very entertaining to see since I never seen them back then... *and would have been fairly young* but hey! I was into Atari and computers then so! Curt Vendel #5 Posted December 6, 2003 It may be new, I hadn't seen it before either... but I was specifically searching in the 84-85 area's myself. What annoyed me was that some of the vid's have no audio which s*cks. Curt
belboz #6 Posted December 6, 2003 Curt, For the ones with no audio, you can listen to it if you download the huge MPEG2 version. I did that for a couple. Were talking a 1GB file or more in some cases.
TwiliteZoner #7 Posted December 8, 2003 the only one i had problems with was the smaller videos for the Atari and Amiga show. What you should do is cut and paste the audio from the one movie and paste on the video only movie.
Clint Thompson #8 Posted December 9, 2003 I haven't had a problem with any yet (weird) they are LOW in volume, I literally jumped out of my seat last night because I had my mac turned almost all the way up while watching one and then I got an email and well, (ONE UP from T2K) voice when I get new mail.... it scared the hell out of me Get the MP4 versions and alternatly the MPG1 version if the MP4 isn't avail. Best I've found anyways.... and it's much lower in download size.

Esc #10 Posted December 10, 2003 I remember this show from the mid to late 80s, and early 90s. I thought it had gone off the air LONG ago, but I am sure that I just heard that they finally cancelled this show on PBS last year! Amazing that this show had been on the air for over 20 years. I remember there were two guys that hosted the show, Stewart Cheifet and another...what happened to the other guy?
