SpendTooMuchOnAtari #1 Posted December 7, 2003 http://offer.ebay.com/ws3/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=3062879910 This guy has a bid retraction problem, 24 since October!? The above is my auction that was at $7.50 but now took a little nose dive. Oh well, but look at the explanation! Could not contact me?? That is nuts! UK WOMBLE #4 Posted December 7, 2003 I think there should be a limit , then if you pass it you get booted off ebay, maybe 2 a year or 3 tops......... I never done 1, even on wrongly descripted items, i just ask the seller to cancel my bid, and its only happened once...... I would block him, but he's American and I dont accept foreign bids without giving express permission anyway, just cancel them if they dont email me first Si
Susuwatari #5 Posted December 7, 2003 That sounds like a good idea. eBay is supposed to investigate excessive bid retraction but I think they depend on someone reporting first. Bidder has only 3 options when retracting bids including "Can't contact seller" and "entered the wrong bid amount" (can't remember the 3rd one) It's not much use if the bidder abuses the can't contact part and simply claim no email ever showed up. You could contact eBay, point out that bid retraction, and point out you never recieved any email. eBay could then investigate and if their record shows the bidder never used contact form, bingo! I think I will do just this. This person should be stopped from doing this to people's auctions. Mine is a little one (monetarily) that I don't care to much about but I would hate for this person to screw up someone else's auction.
sku_u #7 Posted December 7, 2003 That person has been added to my blocked bidder list.
Brad2600 #8 Posted December 7, 2003 I'm lame. I have like a lot of bid retractions but I have gotten better at EBay so it never happens anymore for me.
bjk7382 #9 Posted December 7, 2003 I have never had a bid retraction. That is stupid. If you want to bid on more than one of the same thing, just use a sniper and set up a bid group . It goes thru, say 5 different auctions of the same item, and it will go thru each one and put the price you want to pay in and if it loses it goes on to the next one, and if it wins it cancels the rest of the bids without any retractions. Now don't start flaming me for mentioning a sniper, it would just come in handy in this situation. Not to mention that I am a fanatic about sniping J/K

FND #14 Posted December 7, 2003 Blocked from mine also Thanks for the heads up, this should hopefully put an end to any future problems with this buyer he seems to not care about the rules and would be apt to back out at any time, even after winning

Mindfield #20 Posted December 8, 2003 I'll second that. I'm hard up for Jag stuff. I've got Hover Strike on its way. That'll make TWO Jag carts I own. :-)
