Adrian M #4 Posted December 9, 2003 Keep in mind that these classic coin-ops will require service somewhere down the road. Parts can be difficult to obtain and one must have a basic working knowledge of electronics to keep something like this in their homes. Shipping alone will run you several hundred dollars. It's every person's dream to own their own coin-op game, just be aware that there's more than meets the eye when it comes to owning and operating one. bjk7382 #5 Posted December 9, 2003 Not too long ago I seen a working XYBOTS arcade machine for 150.00 BIN! and it was within 4 hours of my house. I am still kicking myself in the ass for that one. If this one is close to your house, I would say get it now before you regret it later
Mock #6 Posted December 9, 2003 it's not far from my house, this one says it has been gone through and re-furbd...so it shouldn't need much work...and the shipping is $170, but I'm close enough to drive...and Pole Position is one of the few games you just have to play on a real machine to get the full effect...I hate all ports of this game I have ever played and even the MAME version sucks without a real gas pedal and a wheel. must fight urge to BIN....... tantone56 #7 Posted December 9, 2003 If you dont bin someody else will...LIKE ME!!! well no not really but if you want it than get it because regrets suck, I hate when your lying in your bed at night not able to sleep wondering what life woulda been like if you had only done this or that. In other words just do it.

godsey1 #9 Posted December 10, 2003 I have a neighbor that has a Pac-Man arcade game sitting on his carport. I was thinking of going over there and asking how much he want for it. It looks good from the road. What would be a good price for a Pac-Man arcade? Tony
mistah kurtz #10 Posted December 10, 2003 IIRC, Pole Position is a notoriously difficult machine to maintain and repair. If you're seriously considering it, post over in the Arcade & Coin-Op forum, there are some very knowledgeable posters there.
