wrldstrman #1 Posted December 10, 2003 I know this has probally been discussed before but if it was I missed it. What do you think the value of a complete atari collection would be. meaning games released in the US. Boxed I guess 40 thousand, loose maybe 15 thousand.I am just talking games not systems controllers or protos ,xante, I think a boxed air raid would bring close to 5.000.00 plus by itself. Boy, I kinda doubt it would be that much. It wouldn't be TOO hard to sit down and calculate it if you wanted to do the math, but I'd be surprised if it it was much more than 20-25 thousand. CPUWIZ #3 Posted December 10, 2003 Actually it may be a little more than 40K. There is a handfull of games that combined would cost you at least 10K alone. Maybe Rick can answer this one, considering he is 2 away from it.
Xot #4 Posted December 10, 2003 You think so? The boxed Magicard was only something like $1,500, wasn't it? EDIT: My bad, I'm thinking of Malagai, not Magicard.
Mock #5 Posted December 10, 2003 what is this a mastercard commercial? the answer: Priceless!
CPUWIZ #6 Posted December 10, 2003 You think so? The boxed Magicard was only something like $1,500, wasn't it? EDIT: My bad, I'm thinking of Malagai, not Magicard. Add a boxed River Patrol, Gauntlet, Lochjaw, Video Life ($3K) and a couple others and you are up there for just a handfull of games.
MattG/Snyper2099 #7 Posted December 10, 2003 Don't forget a boxed Atlantis II and a boxed Coke Wins/Pepsi Invaders. Those two would be at least another $2500.
MattG/Snyper2099 #8 Posted December 10, 2003 On a related topic, is there a box for the Color Bar Generator???

Clock #10 Posted December 10, 2003 Maybe Rick can answer this one, considering he is 2 away from it. Only 2 away!!! and to think he gave up needing just Combat and ET
+uosipa llamxew #11 Posted December 10, 2003 Actually it may be a little more than 40K. Makes me that much happier that I only collect games that I enjoy playing. A lot cheaper, considering the most expensive games usually suck like a vacuum. :-)
dwh #12 Posted December 11, 2003 I gave up on keeping track of how much I have bought in the last three years;and it was mostly just 2600 stuff.I agree with mogofltr that a lot of the holy grail games suck,so I'm in no real rush to go blow $500+ on one item.I would rather try to buy boxed game lots, but the last one I was watching went for $610,which might not be so bad since it was a 2600 system and 100 boxed games($6.10 a game)....so it looks like I will have to pony up some dough at some point;but not for one item. Also, imagine my 'surprise' that Marco had the box for color bar generator!
Rick Weis #13 Posted December 12, 2003 Actually it may be a little more than 40K. There is a handfull of games that combined would cost you at least 10K alone. Maybe Rick can answer this one, considering he is 2 away from it. i would agree, depends if you're talking just "games" or counting accessories. (like the PGP1) just games 40K easy what about a air raid boxed. BTW it's more then 2 for me, more like 7 if you mean "complete and NTSC" i have 3 bomb carts that are PAL. (my NTSC ones died) Happy Holidays, Rick
Marco #14 Posted December 12, 2003 Does that count? I mean, I'm sure there are more dead carts within your (and any other) collection. As time goes by, more and more of our games will die. I say your NTSC Bomb collection is still complete, Rick! Cheers, Marco
