Obelix, a PAL or not?

ARGH! I received my Obelix a few weeks ago before I had received my actual 2600 unit (Mine broke long ago). In good faith, I went ahead and gave good feedback. What I need to know is...is it a PAL? The eBay ad said nothing about it being PAL and it did not have the "P" designated in the sticker on the end. The symptoms are:

 

It wants to work but scrolls vertically (with a slight diagonal)

THere is a "P" sticker on the back of the cartridge

The label is different than either here on AA. The words aren't written as fancy. Is someone making bootlegs?

It does sound like a pal. Try getting it working on a tv with vertical hold on it. I have a small 13" color tv from the 80's and it has vertical hold and all the pal ROM images off the internet run fine on there.

definitely sounds like the PAL version. the photo on AA is the 1983 version. yours sounds like the 1986 PAL version. check the copyright date under the picture. a P sticker on the back is how many of the PAL games were identified when the P was not on the end label

1986, which would also explain the label variations. Consarnit.

I just sold a PAL Obelix on ebay that`s probably similar to your copy for 12.49$ . Seems like 99% of Obelix`s on ebay are PAL - there is some kind of scam going on with these carts.
