Heaven/TQA #1 Posted December 13, 2003 just resieved from ABBUC the latest user magazine and in the package there was supprisingly a DVD containing several araei movies which i could watch on my dvd player... very nice... f.e. 3rd side of numen... later on i discovered that there where issues of us tv show computer chronicles which seems very interesting and with very competent moderators... one issue from 84 showed chris chrawford explaining excalibur and presenting on the atari "the tank" 800 ("i was fed up with wargames where war is the only solution..." has something changed in 20 years? ) he was proud that excalibur uses all 48k ram + additional game code from about 66k data on disc! ("...and it's all written in assembly language") and kitchen explaining his work on space shuttle for 2600... man... he really knows what he is talking about... did space shuttle really had the 30 pages manual? all nicely done... later on the show the guys from EA were in... bill b. showing pinball construction set and talking about future of games etc... our lovely trip hawkins was in as well and played one2one and how they worked together with larry bird etc... and then he was proud that the floppy discs containing more data than an average arcade machine... i loved to see the EA disc packages. i thought that they were LP size but they seemed little bit smaller... on another issue from 1985 the tramiels where in with the new 520 ST...to be honest... trip hawkins and the other guys were excited about their product...but the tramiels? well... more business orientated... his son demonstrated the GEM GUI with so amazing things like resizing of a window and so unbelievable sentences like "with a double click you can open a disc drive"... i mean it sounds strange nowadays... ok... enough talk... as here are a lot of american friends... was computer chronicle a big show? anybody enjoyed the show as well??? DanBoris #2 Posted December 13, 2003 Computer Chornicles was an excellent show, used to watch it all the time. Had some of the most intelligent computer related coverage on TV at the time. You can download a lot of the episodes from this site: http://www.archive.org/movies/computerchronicles.php Dan
