Master of Orion 3

I stopped by Target this evening after work to buy a few small Christmas gifts. Lo and behold, in their PC games section was a brand new copy of MASTER OF ORION 3 for $4.98!

 

This is one of those 4X strategy games which place a heavy emphasis on diplomacy, economics, exploration and research. Mind you, I'm not normally a huge fan of PC games, much less strategy titles, but hey I could do with a more cerebral type of game and I couldn't pass it up for such an affordable price!

 

The learning curve is certainly steep and games can take hours if not days. So far, I've been making some steady progress, but I believe I hvaen't even touched upon the more advanced commands and options!

 

So, has anyone played this particular game and what other PC strategy games do you enjoy and feel offer lots of good play value for the money?

I've played it. Once.

 

I had more fun defreagging my hard drive.

 

There's a reason this game is $5...it sucks...hard. IMO.
