Most expensive PAL Atari 2600 game/item

Recommended Posts

I'm not a PAL collector and well I doubt I'll ever cross that line because once you do you can't go back and I spend enough as it is.

Still I'm curious what the PAL holy grails.

What is the single most expensive PAL game or item for the 2600.

Just about any of the Homevision games.

A CIB Wing War is hard to find as well, although not nearly as expensive as most uncommon NTSC games.

When I buy a new TV, I plan on getting a multisystem one that automatically displays PAL correctly. I did a quick google seach and found the site below with some info about them.

Hi,

first post on the 2600 forum but, being from France and living in California, I very often thought about getting an inexpensive multi-standard TV.

Having said that, the link you mentioned belongs to a store that has two different (but lookalike) websites - in other words www.mindlogic.com and www.planetomni.com.

Just so you know, the prices are outrageous (compared to what you get in Europe).

For cheaper, you can try www.miniprice.com

And, if you have $ 900 to burn, get that one from Philips (it will display PAL / SECAM / NTSC and is HD to boot):

Other advices, stay away from SONY and, for the best ever price, just import it from overseas (which can be as close as Mexico).

Later.

AB.

Of released games probably something like General Retreat/Westward Ho or maybe those Bomb double packs.

Unreleased, maybe PAL Star Wars Ewok Adventure (so far!)

Jobf sure mentioned some of the most valuable PAL stuff. There are some cool hardware items as well, like the Parker Brothers Previewer and the Hot Shot demonstration carts. Of course, there's also lots of nice Brazilian stuff. As for value, most of this is still much cheaper than any supposedly rare NTSC games and hardware - so be brave and join the PAL side :)

Cheers,

Marco

There's also this game. I'm assuming it's extrenely hard to find since no one knows the name of it or has seen it before:

I know of one other Datatech title (thanks to Rick!): Seal to Whales. While these games indeed appear to be quite rare, it doesn't make them very valuable. At least not yet, if enough people will join the PAL side, our precious PAL goodies will go up and up in price :D

Cheers,

Marco

Never heard from that game before? Where did it come from? Box looks a bit like Zellers games.

In which countries can this game be found? I have never hear or see it in germany. :o

The box looks great. I love whales.

Australia, but I suspect it can also be found in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and the likes.

That game, from the box, sounds like an odd rendition of Pengo . . . No pic of the cart? . . . It does look like a Zellers box, wondering if the cart is also similar . . .

It's indeed Pengo-like. The game is in storage right now, so I cannot make a scan of the cart. I do know that the label has the same pic as the box and names DEC and DataTech.

Cheers,

Marco
