Inky #1 Posted December 26, 2003 Okay... For those of you who own an 8-bit and don't have this yet, RUN, DON'T WALK -- To get it! For thos of you who have seen the arcade version of Warlords, it is SPOT ON! The AI is good (albeit tough), the graphics are superb, and the Sound FX are good. Very fun as a 1 player game (I asked my wife to play a round with me, but she insisted she had to go shopping... So no multiplayer review -- yet.) Get it. It's a great New Years / Belated Christmas / Kwanzaa / Elvis' Birthday gift.
oesii #2 Posted December 26, 2003 I've been playing it for a good week and I already broke my paddles Seriously, those paddles were a little crusty and the plastic casing inside cracked from repeated Castle Crisis play. Now that's a good review. Luckily, I have a few extra sets of paddles or I would take legal action
oesii #3 Posted December 26, 2003 forgot to add another cool feature of CC is that you can play with a 1-player game using the 2nd player paddle. That's a lot easier than going to the closet and digging through my storage bins for those extra paddles right now

Mendon #8 Posted December 29, 2003 Over Christmas was able to get a family Castle Crisis competition going with 8 people; had a very fun tournament. Was sort of funny... instead of everyone gathering in the living room and talking, everyone was in the "computer room" playing CC along with eating snacks, talking, showing off their gifts, and such. Might need to put an addition on the house if more people attend our get together next year. 15 people in that small computer room made for very tight quarters. But everyone had a blast and you got a lot of compliments on the game, Bryede! Mendon
Bryan #9 Posted December 29, 2003 Over Christmas was able to get a family Castle Crisis competition going with 8 people; had a very fun tournament. Cool... That's the sort of crowd I used to get around my Warlords arcade machine & what made me think writing it for the Atari might be a good idea. -Bry

TMR #11 Posted December 30, 2003 Hey Bryede... how about a port to the C64? [Grins, ducks, runs like a nutter! =-]
Bryan #12 Posted December 30, 2003 If I can snag another set of paddles tonight or tomorrow, we may have a CC tourney at our New Year's party. Cool deal. It's a totally different experience 4-player! We ususally set it to 5 or 10 matches per round. Hey Bryede... how about a port to the C64? [Grins, ducks, runs like a nutter! =-] Humm... doesn't the 64 require special Commodore paddles? Does anyone have those? -Bry
