Mobile Light Force 2 question

Recommended Posts

I remember reading somewhere that Mobile Light Force 2 for PS2 was also available on the Dreamcast with a different name. Which DC game was it? And was it Mobile Light Force 1 on the DC?

I bought MLF2 tonight for $12.99 at Target. What I always noticed about the game was it's totally inappropriate cover that's a total rip-off of Charlie's Angels. It's totally pathetic that they put three hot babes on the cover to sell a shooter that doesn't have any hot babes in it. I just coincidentally happen to be pathetic myself, so I bought it anyway. :)

I was going to buy one of them untill I saw the cover.

I think it was the first.

Good game or not, I refuse to give them any cash for marketing Gunbird like that.

Gunbird! That's the name of it! I couldn't remember which shooter it was. There were a few shooters that I read great things about for the DC, but never got around to picking up. I bought Mars Matrix, but that one was just too tough. How many bullets can they stuff onto a television screen? And I always wanted Bangaio, but have been dragging my feet picking that one up. I've seen it used in game stores, but I never seem to have money on me when I locate it.

Anyway, thanks for the info!

Mars Matrix is one of the few post-SNES games I've seen with slowdown(yes, it gets bad enough to make a dreamcast pause for breath).

I've actually gotten into the game enough to dodge bullets once or twice. Yes, pure dodging, no shield.

Then I lose it, die, and wonder what the hells I was doing a few minutes ago.

As ubersaurus pointed out, Mobile Light Force is a (badly localized) port of Gunbird, which originally was available for Japanese Saturn and Playstation. Gunbird 2 was the sequel to Gunbird, and was available for U.S. Dreamcast.

Mobile Light Force 2 is a (badly localized) port of Shikigami No Shiro, which was published for Japanese PS2 and Xbox, and which has nothing to do with any of the Gunbirds. The whole Mobile Light Force thing is just XS Games's rebranding of import shooter games and an excuse to put the faux Charlie's Angels on the cover. Maybe it will fool some teenagers into buying the games.

I wonder what game will be localized as "Mobile Light Force 3"?

While at my local EB today, they had 2 copies of Mobile Light Force. Not 2, just __. This is very strange. I remember on the Tech TV show X-Play (after bashing MLF2 to no end) that there isnt even a mobile light force 1. Well, look whose wrong again? Oh, that one also had the 'Charlies Angels' girls on the cover.
