JerseyDevil #1 Posted January 3, 2004 Is an Atari 7800 for a Colecovision a fair trade?
tiggerthehun #2 Posted January 3, 2004 I think as long as both are working, sure, why not?
SteveW #3 Posted January 3, 2004 If you have two 7800s and want a Colecovision, it sounds okay. If you only have one 7800, well........ I personally wouldn't do it. I like my 7800 and it's games too much to trade it. But that's just me.
JerseyDevil #4 Posted January 3, 2004 Thanks for the replies. Colecovisions seem to be less common and more expensive on E-Bay than 7800's. I would rather not trade my 7800, but I never really play 7800 games, so I thought I could get by with a 2600.
Ze_ro #5 Posted January 3, 2004 If it's a question of rarity, I'd say keep the 7800... I've never seen one of them in the wild at all. ColecoVision's aren't common, but they come up from time to time. If it's a question of fun games, then I'd have to say go for the ColecoVision. Way more good games for the Coleco than for the 7800 (not counting 2600 games of course). Frankly, I'd say the fun factor of the ColecoVision is easily enough to outdo the rarity of the 7800. --Zero
Susuwatari #6 Posted January 3, 2004 It's pretty much up to you. In the wild I've found 2 7800 with the power supply and controllers (some controllers didn't work) but I've found maybe 5 or 6 CVs in the wild (2 power supply brick and most of the white controllers) OTOH Colecovision has more games than the 7800 and Colecovision also has a 2600 adapter to -play 2600 games.
