Atari Balloon Fight?

Recommended Posts

This guy is trying to convince me that there was a Balloon Fight for atari and that he has one and hes willing to sell it to me along with an atari and 19 other games for two dollars. When I tell him that there never was a Balloon Fight for Atari he says no it's very rare and then they remade it for NES. I ask him if he's thinking of Joust and he says that its not called Joust its called Balloon fight and its a small black cartridge and it's sitting right in front of him. He says he'll get a picture. So I wait. He says his scanner is broken. Now I'm 99.999999999999999% sure that there isn't and never was a Balloon Fight for the Atari 2600 Video Computer System I just need someone to confirm my doubts. Thanks.

My take on it:

A) He's never played "Balloon Fight" on the NES

B) He's confusing "Circus Atari" with "Balloon Fight" :ponder:

ANd then there's theory #2:

He's full of it... :dunce:

In either case, don't look for this particular Nintendo's offspring on the 2600.

If it's $2 for the whole set, take it anyway. Even Combat are worth more than that. :D

It probably is Circus but if it turns out to be Balloon Fight, you'd have Tempest drooling at your feet over a new and unreleased proto.

For $2, I would just take everything he gives you. It could end up being a cartridge for the Atari 400/800.

He's probably shitting you. If I were you, I'd ask for photos to confirm this.

But if he's right, then expect Tempest to knock on your door..LOL. :D

The rest of these guys must be sick with fevers or something.

Read it again! 20 games and an Atari for $2! Don't ask for pictures; ask when you can drive over to pick it up!!!

1) Yup, $2 for a system & 20 carts is a no-brainer

2) But as to Balloon Fight he's got something wrong or is lying

But it only costs $2 to find out, so go for it!

For $2 for that many games AND a system, he could be swearing he has an Airworld prototype for all I care. $2 is a bargain for what he's offering you.

Ummmm yeah...It's $2.00

This is without a doubt the most redundant thread I've ever read here at AA

I heard a prototype of a game called Balloon Fight was made. The ROM is supposed to be released 4/1/04 to the general public.

Yeah, and I hear we'll be getting a limited-edition Driver 2 2600 version, and Xante will be back in business for PS2 . . .

But, no, if this guy knows of the NES game by the same name . . . It's either

1) Joust or Lancelot hack

2) A load

3) ??? --- Any PAL-onlys that could have been pirated as "Balloon Fight"? . . .

Hmm... all this on the same day that "Turbo" was finally released to the Atari gaming public!

Y'know... there might even be a special one-year anniversay "platinum" edition of Turbo on the date too! :D

Will the gaming goodness ever cease? :lolblue: ;)

I haven't heard so many mentions of $2 since Better Off Dead, 1984 John Cusack.

...but yeah, for all that? I'd likely pay ten times that without even blinking.
