chairmonkey4406 #1 Posted January 4, 2004 This guy is trying to convince me that there was a Balloon Fight for atari and that he has one and hes willing to sell it to me along with an atari and 19 other games for two dollars. When I tell him that there never was a Balloon Fight for Atari he says no it's very rare and then they remade it for NES. I ask him if he's thinking of Joust and he says that its not called Joust its called Balloon fight and its a small black cartridge and it's sitting right in front of him. He says he'll get a picture. So I wait. He says his scanner is broken. Now I'm 99.999999999999999% sure that there isn't and never was a Balloon Fight for the Atari 2600 Video Computer System I just need someone to confirm my doubts. Thanks. rockman_x_2002 #2 Posted January 4, 2004 My take on it: A) He's never played "Balloon Fight" on the NES B) He's confusing "Circus Atari" with "Balloon Fight" ANd then there's theory #2: He's full of it... In either case, don't look for this particular Nintendo's offspring on the 2600.
Susuwatari #3 Posted January 4, 2004 If it's $2 for the whole set, take it anyway. Even Combat are worth more than that. It probably is Circus but if it turns out to be Balloon Fight, you'd have Tempest drooling at your feet over a new and unreleased proto.
cvga #4 Posted January 4, 2004 For $2 just get the set as quickly as you can.
bcprs1 #5 Posted January 4, 2004 For $2, I would just take everything he gives you. It could end up being a cartridge for the Atari 400/800.
Brad2600 #6 Posted January 4, 2004 He's probably shitting you. If I were you, I'd ask for photos to confirm this. But if he's right, then expect Tempest to knock on your door..LOL.

The rest of these guys must be sick with fevers or something. Read it again! 20 games and an Atari for $2! Don't ask for pictures; ask when you can drive over to pick it up!!! slapdash #8 Posted January 8, 2004 1) Yup, $2 for a system & 20 carts is a no-brainer 2) But as to Balloon Fight he's got something wrong or is lying But it only costs $2 to find out, so go for it!
sku_u #9 Posted January 8, 2004 For $2 for that many games AND a system, he could be swearing he has an Airworld prototype for all I care. $2 is a bargain for what he's offering you.
MegaManFan #10 Posted January 8, 2004 Yeah, $2 is a no-lose situation.
moycon #11 Posted January 8, 2004 Ummmm yeah...It's $2.00 This is without a doubt the most redundant thread I've ever read here at AA

Yeah, and I hear we'll be getting a limited-edition Driver 2 2600 version, and Xante will be back in business for PS2 . . . But, no, if this guy knows of the NES game by the same name . . . It's either 1) Joust or Lancelot hack 2) A load 3) ??? --- Any PAL-onlys that could have been pirated as "Balloon Fight"? . . .

mechanized #20 Posted January 14, 2004 I haven't heard so many mentions of $2 since Better Off Dead, 1984 John Cusack. ...but yeah, for all that? I'd likely pay ten times that without even blinking.
