Questions of OS/Desktoppers

Recommended Posts

Welp I have been fiddling with my Falcon (trouble with video prefs) so I decided to repartition my HD..well as any smart computer user would do i decided to back up my original floppy disk (multitos, speedogdos, extras and language) before starting..welp you can guess it, disk 2 of speedogdos has a read/write error so that means no reistall until i decide

1. buy another copy of speedogdos

2. get different os like MagiC ect

BTW i can chage display options with hd/floppy disabled but not with hd running,so must be some software causing conflict

So before i upgrade i thought i would ask you all here what os/desktop you use and why..also planning on getting bigger hd so will probably do both at same time..hehe also rem I'm a n00b to the atari world :)

Thanks!

Tom

I just run the standard desktop, in several screenmodes depending on what program i'm going to use. All I do with my Falcon is playing the occasional game, collect demo's and fiddle around with several tracker programs. So i got no real use for things like Speedogdos MagiC etc.

My 2nd Falcon, a still not operational desktopper, is a box full of surprises. It has some accelerator + software for display settings. There the keyboard isn't working yet i can't get passed the start up sequence of that software. So i am unable to tell what's on it
