Adrian M #4 Posted January 7, 2004 I'm not fond of the DDR machines. An arcade in my area that I visit occassionally has installed several of these dance games on the upper floor, where as luck would have it my games of choice happen to reside. So as I play the latest SNK fighting games and other arcade classics, I also have to contend with a building that shakes at near-seismic levels. Also, keep in mind that some of the fanatics who play these games aren't exactly in the greatest shape and tend to sweat profusely which doesn't do much for the air quality in the arcade (many even go as far as bringing towels and water bottles for their marathon sessions). CPUWIZ #6 Posted January 7, 2004 the best thing hitler did was build to autobund got his people out of poverity I know what you said and it's true, he was indeed responsible for the Autobahn. The only problem is, they were not his people, he was a friggin Austrian. LOL

eldunko #8 Posted January 7, 2004 max2...but alot of it is song list preference, personally the xbox one looks kinda neat with 4 playerness. But your list only had PS ones, so therefore Max2 is my choice check the ddrfreak.com fourms for more indepth comparisons.
VidGameKing #9 Posted January 7, 2004 I've never actually played any of the DDR series. I've seen thos god awful fat people at the arcades though. mybe they think it's a good way to get into shape and play viedo games at the same time. My parents (who are not in the best of shape) came to me and asked if there was a video game that would get them into shape. I told them most of the DDR games were too fast paced for them. Are these games really as addictive as the appear to have captivated an audiance? or are the completely mindless and anoying?

sigma #12 Posted January 8, 2004 There are levels of skill...
Mr.FoodMonster #13 Posted January 8, 2004 Wow, you guys sure do hate DDR, but why? Anyways, there are skill levels you can change, Beginner, Light, Standard, and Heavy. I'm not fat or anything, but you DO need water while playing that game, it does get you sweating a lot of you play Standard/Heavy. Althought, I can understand why you dont like it if the arcade was a bit stinky, but the one i go to has gret ventalation ect, so thats not a concern at all. RCmodeler #14 Posted January 8, 2004 DDR ranges from so slow you'll fall asleep to so fast it's impossible. Your choice. . I still consider Konamix the best. The MAIN reason is because I like the disco lighting effects in the background and the dancer in the foreground. The boring movies in MAX 1 and 2 don't do it for me. The other reason is Konamix has more songs worth hearing over-and-over (~20). MAX 1 and MAX 2 only have about 5 songs each that I like. Pretty pathetic. I have never Rapped with Parappa or Jammed with Lammy. I have never sung Karaoke unless you count me singing to myself. The closest I've gotten is Space Channel 5. Mr.FoodMonster #20 Posted January 8, 2004 On MAX2 (not sure about 1) You can unlock the dancermode if you dont like the videos. I dont mind it eitherway, but I'm guessing that you didnt know that. There are only a few songs on MAX2 that I cant STAND (Silent Night or Hill or whatever the hell) Japanesse singing X-Mas carols =

goatdan #23 Posted January 10, 2004 It isn't one of the listed games, but I'll throw in my two cents for Feet of Fury, and it isn't just because the GOAT Store made it... I was turned onto dance games from some friends who had fallen in love with DDR. I risked my luck at the arcade once, and spent about $3.00 in about ten minutes, which obviously wasn't working out. Luckily, no one was around to watch. After finally trying a demo of Feet of Fury (Dreamcast) I decided to get two hard pads and both Dreamcast DDR imports. I eagerly shoved them into my machine and... Wow was I unimpressed. I've heard that the games are much better on the PS2, and I don't doubt it. The DC games looked like early PS1 games and were either insanely difficult or stupidly easy. I was playing with a friend, and after we tried six songs on DDR he turned to me and asked me to never both with DDR again and for us to go back to FoF. I especially enjoy the Typing mode in Feet of Fury. It's extremely unique, and something that I can sit around and do when I want to hear the music for the game but I don't want to bust a sweat. Quite fun! If you haven't checked it out already, I would definitely suggest doing so (it's at the GOAT Store, link below)!
