Rocko #7 Posted January 8, 2004 Why did the colcecovision bomb? The graphics are completely superior, and the games were the same as the 2600. So, why did it fail? Was it the same Reason the Lynx did? (I dont know that one either).

It just suffered the same fate of many systems and videogame companies during the crash in the market in 1984.

Nukey Shay #11 Posted January 8, 2004 Yes...the CV got into the game just as public attention was shifting away from consoles and more toward computers. Although the Adam might have been able to weather that storm, poor support from Coleco didn't help. And it did cost more than other small computers of similar or HIGHER capabilities. smf_4ever #15 Posted January 9, 2004 It feels like I have no time at all... But I have off and on been working on a jumpman port to the VCS.. I am still a VERY beginner in the 6507 programming.. but the only real way I can figure this.. is that it would be a multi load game (due to screens and all the variations that need to be made for screens).. my basic (Remember that word.. really basic) calculations is a 3 or four load game.. so it would be limited to either an emulator (blah!!) or SC/CC owners.. BUT.. I think if any of the real or good programmers come up with something.. I would be thrilled!!! I am still having some major comprehension issues with my code.. (I would love a simple template of addresses of what is where so I dont keep overwriting and misplacing my lines..)
Megamaniac #16 Posted January 9, 2004 There was an Atari computer version of this game too...the perhaps less widely known as the Colecovision version. Very fun game, I played it a lot.
